Here is a Topic where you can write what your buildings, UFO's, tanks, planes (or creatures but there was a post about creatures. Up to you.) will look like.
So, creative juices flowing people.

Well, I'm thinking about a mamooth tank from C&C: Red Alert for my creatures (really big tank, 2 cannons, stinger and machinegun), and some walkers. I love walkers, I'll probably be making bipod and quadrupod mechs with rocket launchers. The bipods similarly to those in Starcraft, the quadrupods like the ones of the UCS in Earth 2160. Oh and those gliders from Starcraft. Gotta love ground combat ;D

What I'd really like to see would be cybernetic creatures to be used as vehicles. I'm thinking about something like modified whales or modified giant calmars that can carry weaponry and personal. I would build some of those too if it would be possible.

I already posted these in the "first creature" topic, but here they are again. (NOTE: The little thumbnails don't work for too long, so I'll just post the URLs.)

My first creature will probably look like this (it's an aquatic omnivore).

A creature I will make either on the UFO stage or evolve during my second game.

The HARBRINGER OF DEATH robot, which will reak havoc on cities on other planets, allowing me to colonize with no opposition.

I am going to have a LEGO theme. I'll start with Bricktopia and work my way out from there.

I'm going to include alot of homages to my favorite SF books. For expample, My Cities are going to have alot of very tall, monolithic spires like Dyspar.

I'm thinking a city full of spiked metalic buildings, mostly tall and detailed.. Think of Orthanc, Saruman's tower in Lord of the Rings.. As for my weapons.. Well, I've already posted a picture of my UFO somewhere, think of the starships in Starship Troopers.. As for tanks and ground vehicles, I'm thinking of walkers, a la Star Wars or War of the Worlds (with my own theme ofcourse).. Ugh.. I can't wait another year for this game to come out!  :P

If it's possible I won't use vehicles at all, just my main race with various technological devices.  There would be handheld megaweapons, personal energy shields, personal fast-movement aids.  I'd even go through space like that.  Of course if I just want to throw cannon fodder at the enemy I'll engineer some cruel, vicious lifeform to do it for me.

I'd turn a world into my own personal hell. Buildings that seem to defy the laws of physics, genetically engineered hunter-killers, lava flows, slave pits, a jungle of carnivorous plants i/p... basically, a world inamical to human life. Then I'll drop a number of still evolving races in there and take the one that evolves to city stage and make them my own personal super soldiers. I'll cart 'em off to a better place, take a select few of the meanest to leave there, and from later on just throw enemies onto that planet.

Ah, right. Here's a crude sketch of a hell-monster and a hell-zombie.
http://artpad.art.com/?iksh2l196dow

And here's a hell-zergbuilding, with a lil' bit more detail.
http://artpad.art.com/?iksh411js41w

Notice how on the HellZombie, one leg is shorter. This I did so it would limp around, and I also plan to make the other leg have no knee joint, for more zombie power. The right arm will also be single-jointed and will have some sort of weapon attatched, whilst the left one will have a grasper. I'll try to get that planet to be as hostile as possibly possible.

Uhuh.  But wouldn't the limping and non-jointed-ness just make it less dangerous?  It would be creepy, right, but you could outrun it's lopsided legs, and the weapon wouldn't pose a real danger to say, a tiger, who could bite it to death...

Speaking of which, maybe you should give it a powerful constitution, so when it gets hit, it just keeps coming, zombielike?

Not to mention mad numbers. But yeah, armour and constitution should compromise for being slow.

Numbers: make it a herbivore.  If this game has good population dynamics, there should be a lot more grass-eaters than grass-eater-eaters.  The weapons you give it should be lethal enough, but if you REALLY want to see it eating the brains of it's victims, I guess settle for omnivore.

Well, if possible, I was actually planning to do something like have a zombie factory, it would make sense to have such things, but if not possible, where would the incentive to kill be if it's a herbivore? Nah, it's a herd carnivore. Not as much for efficiency as for effect.

Ah, but I was one of those who killed his sims.
