Need help on Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.
« on: July 01, 2007, 01:43:39 pm »
I'm at Star Hill, and I can't seem to figure out this one area.  I've checked out every walk through out there, and tried to find a visual guide, but without luck.  I'm at this place where I have to use the baby Mario brothers power to dig underground and crawl under a fence.  Yet when I crawl under there I find a platform too high for me to jump on there!  Not only that, but there is another opening I could crawl under, but theres a piece of metal blocking it off!  Someone help...

I think you're best off asking that sort of question at GameFAQs, or consulting a walkthrough. That said, someone might be able to help.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. :)

I would have posted on GameFAQs, but they take forever to activate accounts, so I tried here.

Oh, and thank you.

Welcome to the forums. Maybe you can find what you need here.

Maybe this should be merged with this thread? http://www.gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php?topic=7214

I'm sorry, but that doesn't help.  It does not discuss the fact that a metal plate is blocking my way to the cave and as of yet I have no way to get into it.  Does anyone know what I am talking about?  Or do I have some screwed up version of the game?

It's most likely we don't remember the game that well so don't know exactly what the puzzle is.

Like I said. Go to Gamefaqs. Since no-one has answered, it wouldn't be a stretch to presume no-one here plays the game or can remember that part.

I'm afraid we can't help you.

The reason we can not help you is because we do not have anywhere near the volume of people that GameFAQs gets.

What I am saying is that you might get an answer here, but the odds are seriously stacked against you.

Now, if you've followed my directions, you have both the Ulti-Free badge and
the Para Slacks, which you just acquired at Toad Town. Equip them both on
your strongest character, Mario, and you now have the perfect set-up. With
his new-found superspeed he'll always be the first to attack, and now he can
attack with a limitless number of Bros. Items. It's almost unfair. Wait, what
am I talking about, it IS unfair. Oh well. Guess you're just going to have to
slaughter your enemies now and cry about it later.

But on a more Star Hill related note, you start off watching a very short
cutscene which is just Stuffwell making a fool of himself again. Oh Stuffwell!
Ho ho ho, hilarious. Moving on. Grab the items nearby and head to the north
east exit. Essentially, the plan here is to use those Mix Flowers you got in
the last area, in conjunction with Mario's superspeed and endless Bros. Items,
to kill every enemy you run into in the first attack. Cheap? Yes. Effective?
Yes. Once you hit the dead end, use Baby Cakes to slide the babies into the
gap in the wall, and then Spin Jump to spin the wheel to power the wind. Take
a detour on the left midway through for some items, after leaving that area
by tunneling, the items being on both sides of the area you exit into. Avoid
the enemies on both sides, best not to fight them with babies. Repeat the Baby
Cakes Spin Jump combo, this time sending the babies all the way up and to the
left, having them leave and hitting the green pipe block for the adults to
come. Defeat the enemies nearby and grab the items, then head north. Again,
grab the items and save, then head north again.

That doesn't help...it doesn't address the metal plate blocking the way.  It seems no one notices it but me.

Is that the barrier?

Just search whatever game you need help with on google.

You can probably find help there than on here.

Are you sure the plate is actually blocking it, and that it's not on the floor? Have you actually tried doing what it told you to do? If you haven't, then try it.

It's a Nintendo DS game. There is no Print Screen button in the DS. :P

Actually, metal plates are a common obstacle in the game, and it so happens that this one has stumped me.

Also, I dont have a camera so I'll have to find some other way to take pictures of it.

Yes, but all the ones I saw were on the ground, as far as I can remember.

Did I say it wasn't on the ground?  This is a metal plate that is not allowing me to dig under and go into this tight, little entryway.

Haven't I already said before that the metal plate blocks the ability to do that?  That's what the metal plates do.

Um, no... metal plates stop you from going under it. Have you tried making them tiny instead? I think you make Mario turn into a ball and squash the babies?
