i honestly disagree with the supposition that "obama lacks the cajones" to make change.  if you think about what specifically the president of the US does, you'll realize that the most important characteristic in a president is DELEGATION and the ability to surround oneself with competent people.  not necessarily people who always agree with you...but brilliant, competent, committed people of good character.  (and yes, such people DO exist.)  if obama's experience has proven anything, it's that he is capable of working with people of all political parties...and able to surround himself well.  hillary has accepted too much money from special interests, owes too many people, and comes with too much baggage...she is downright divisive...whereas barack is a bringer-together-er.   

mccain, love him or hate him, at least he's honest and straightforward and is a person of reasonably good character.  i could live with him...but NOT with huckabee or romney.  if the end contest is hillary v. mccain, there will be serious soul-searching going on at our house...and that would be made harder if it were clinton/obama (but i doubt that would happen).  i told my husband that if it comes to hillary v. mccain and he votes mccain, he won't have to sleep on the couch.  (whereas, his ass would have TOTALLY been on the couch had he voted for GWB.)

i have NOT heard that hillary is leading...actually CNN, an hour ago, had she and barack in a deadlock...mccain winning on the R side overall but huckabee taking WV (which...i lived there for awhile...every joke you've ever heard about the place is THE TRUTH, and i'm not kidding.)

The Super Tuesday results are still coming in, and at this moment it's a two way tie for the Democrats and a three way tie for the Republicans in many states.  If one candidate has gained an advantage over the others in their respective parties, I can't tell yet.  There are simply too many numbers for me to process at the moment.

Also, I probably shouldn't say this, I should probably just let things be and not open a can of worms.  But really, a lot of the people in this thread have no idea what they are talking about.  Please try to get your facts straight and learn something about the candidates before you say more stupid things.

Basically, Obama would be cool with me, because he doesn't have enough "cahones" to make changes. Really, anyone besides Hilary is cool with me. I mean lets face it, Hilary Clinton is a socialist. I don't want the future America to be... Canada, also where socialism springs communism is close by. Basically, I call for the reanimation of Ronald Reagan. On a serious note though, I support Romney. I don't like Mccain because he has a flip floppy feel, I don't know what it is about him.

Hey buddy, Canada is much better than America. Our crime rate is less than yours (unless you live in Toronto), our health care is free, and we don't go to war at the drop of the hat. If America was even a LITTLE like Canada, the world would be a much better place.

well now buddy, we all have our ideas of a good country, obviously your idea is different than my idea. On the subject of playing black people for ancestral slavery, pffft i think its foolish. I tell you what if I were president(god forbid) they would have a choice, they can have their payment, but if they accept the reparations than they must move out of the country back to cozy Africa, or they can simply keep on living in America (no reparations).

No they are not. I have been all over America many times. I have been to WV many times and i have a lot of family and friends there. My girlfriends father also go's there many times on job sites. My own father travels the US due to his job and has been there many times too. Those jokes are completely false. Perhaps you had a personal experience with a couple nutters but please do not stereotype and generalize an entire state because they supported a candidate you dislike.

Fair enough...sorry...but my experience was that of living in a Deliverance-style rural area where the whole small town was nuts, hence my heebie-jeebies and my need to veer completely around West Virginia in my travels for the rest of my life.  My then-husband and I were actively recruited to join the KKK and treated differently when we refused to join...and that's only ONE of the MANY weirdnesses that occurred during my two years there. There probably are sane, nice people living somewhere in the state...but I never met them in 2 years. 

Obviously my viewpoint is going to be different from that of others, politically, and I'm not going to apologize for that because debate and dialogue, and the right to individual beliefs are one of the founding concepts of our country.  You are welcome to your opinion, and I'd defend to the death your right to have it and promote it.

Hehe i can relate to some of those. i have had pretty weird experiences with people too all over the US and many in my home town in Ohio.

I was disappointed that my state is not one of the Super Tuesday voting states so I won't get to vote until May. After much research and debate watching the one who comes closest to my beliefs is Romney. He wants to take away the estate tax, a major item for me. McCain would be my next choice. The media seemed surprised about Huckabee's results. Rumor has it that McCain will get the nomination and take Huckabee as a running mate, guess we'll see.

For the primaries right now, it's either Democrat or Republican.  But when we get to the actual election in november you could vote a split ticket; voting for the Republican presidential candidate and a Democratic Congressman, Senator, or Governor, or vice versa.
