Fable 2

Ah the new fable. I'm quite excited actually. The decision between good or evil. Your canine companion. Kids. And most importantly of all, getting the entire towns love by giving everyone at the local bar free drinks.

Some interesting features as well such as the Dynamic World.

"Molyneux has stated that his aim is to create a dynamic, changing world on a large scale. Since the game will take place over a hero's lifetime, many things will change; he gave an example of a trade camp you could help or destroy that would later be a town or ruin. Trading in such camps would increase their profit, resulting in a small town growing around them, while stealing from the camp or massacring the camp will result in the abandonment of the area. Additionally, every property in the world is ownable by the player, often unlocking further content such as quests. Titles will be awarded for buying property, for instance, if you were to buy every building, and every piece of land in a town, you may become known as the mayor, king, and eventually emperor of that town."

Looks like we'll be able to learn marksmanship. But I still hope they left archery in the game.

Will you follow the path of mind? Or body? Or ability? Or corruption? Every choice leads to a different destiny. Choose your fortune.

It'll be a cold day in Havana before I buy a game that Peter Molyneux has laid his hands on.

That being said, if Fable 2 is what he says it is I might consider downloading it.

Because he lied to be about Black & White, Fable, and Black & White 2.

He's the worst offender when it comes to overhyping a game. You need to take everything he says with a grain of salt. And I know he said he would try his hardest not to overhype Fable 2 but I still am being wary.

Rather than see his stuff as free-flowing and fluidly adapting/altering, its better if you just think of it as simple branching-path or parameter-driven.

Punch NPC in face.  -1 rep, +1 NPC anger.
Apologise to NPC. +1 rep, -1 NPC anger.
*insert 10-minute sequence of rapid punches and chained apologies for humor, character leaving without consequence*

I just finished watching the E3 '07 presentation, and the game is looking really great. Molyneux himself said that all the core things, such as the world, objects, movements, combat are all completed. He wants to spend a year tweaking and make all the AI and such to work just right.

He's finally starting to watch his words now. But I still hope the final product will play as well as is claimed, since he gave the control to both a random person and the least experienced gamer in the room and they both did a great job in the fighting.

Yes, guns, swords, axes, maces, hammers and bows have all been confirmed for this next game. Crossbows might make a return.

Remember this is set some 500 years after the first and is roughly reminiscent of a later-half "Age of Discovery" England. Also, I think guns were confirmed in the first video we got, from last year. The one with the fortune teller.

A wise Surface to Air Missile once said about marrying 9 year olds in Saudi Arabia "Its pretty hard to tell if a 9 year old is going to be hot when she grows up, kids change a lot, usually, seems like a bad system. That cute little nine year old you married could end being a fat, zitty teenager."
