What's Your Two Cents on Online Achievements?

What are your two cents on online achievements? I personally hate them, because of lag, skills, if a game is outdated, etc...

It also means that it's impossible to control how easy or hard they are to get. For example, in PDZ there's a "get 1000 kills" achievement. Now if you get matched with hard people all the time (because you're playing the game late so only the good people are still playing it) then it will be much harder than for someone who played when all the new players were on it. So how is the achievement worth the same to both people? It should be awarded for a measurable task like finishing the game on a difficulty so that it's as much of an achievement for everyone.

Overwhelmed, as one would be, placed in my position.

Thanks for adding that.

I think it's cool to have a good measure of both. Personally, they're fun and everything, nice to have some competition with people, but aren't online achievements one of the main reasons cheat codes aren't in games anymore? That sucks, IMHO.
