Isn't V the same as the IV released for the DS? I forget how the transition worked.

I know the III for the DS was the version never released in the US back then.

The US decided to make sense of the names.

III is III.

IV is IV.

V is V.

It was really the first "true" Final Fantasy game.

You call it "True" because you're comparing it to the Sony games.

But what makes something "true"? It having similar features as the new ones? I consider it to be true when it is like the old games.

Or do you just say something is "true" whenever it is like the games you prefered?

Yes, I meant "true" as in it's the first game in the series that has a real story and character development, and people will recognise as a Final Fantasy game.

I cannot get past the fight with Golbez after the dolls.

I hate when he uses Thundara/Blizzara/Fira three times in a row right after I use a pheonix down. Seriously wtf.

Yeah that was a very tough battle. The only thing I can say is that you shouldn't expect to fight it at full health or with all of your characters alive. You'll be on the ropes the whole time. It can be done though, just make sure you are using Libra or something to figure out which element Golbez is weak toward. Also slow the game down a bit if you can't react quickly enough. Finally, set the battle mode to wait instead of active for a very big advantage.

I can react quickly enough, and I've got it set to Wait Mode. My characters just aren't fast enough I guess.

Also I guess you're right about the "don't expect to have full health and more than two party members alive" thing. I kinda expected that I could, because I do in almost every other boss battle.

then i cast slow on him with rosa before she died...then it was cake

I should do that.

Golbez is ridiculous.

I cast slow on him right away.

He kills everyone but Cecil.

Cecil and Rydia rez 2 people. Golbez casts an AOE to kill the two just rezzed.

Cecil and Rydia die due to damage from the AOE's.

If you want to level Rosa up to 55, she'll learn Arise.
