I was really disappointed with the controls in FFXII for DS, I was expecting something like FFIII for DS. I hope FFIV is better.

Meh. All Square Enix seems to be doing with these remakes is making all of the male characters look like little girls and adding a bunch of CG cut scenes that add nothing to the game.

For this reason, I hope they stay away from FF6, but I know they're going to milk that cash cow for all it's worth once the time comes.

We've got some more videos out today! Check them out here!

The battle system is looking good and I love the character model for Tellah, they did a good job on him.

**EDIT**
Hey, there's a preview up on GameTrailers! Make sure you look at it, this game looks fantastic!

**EDIT EDIT**
Hey! There's some more videos up! We've got a cool comparison video as well as the opening cinematic. The cinematic doesn't have any spoilers really but the first ones does to some extent.

Anyway, with each remake we come one step closer to a remake of Final Fantasy VI! ;D

For the remake of Final Fantasy VI, I was hoping it'd be on a big console.
Like... huge.

But whatever. We'll see what happens.
I'm gonna be getting IV anyway soon enough. My SNES cartridge my well be on its way out.  :'(

They said this would be the last.  The guys that have been remaking them said they wanted to make a new engine and do some brand new stuff on their own now.  Shame, I would have quite liked to see 5 remade as well, that's the only other one that could have benefited from this kind of treatment.  VI is fine as it is.  I definitely agree with your other comment though.  I've just been playing through XII and Vann completely kills the story, it would have been far better, had it simply focused on Basch the whole way through, but apparantly some people can't stand the idea of playing as a character older than 16..

Fortunately, XIII seems to be staying away from this.  We have a 20-something year old female lead, and the rest of the guys we've seen so far don't look too bad either.

Edward is amazingly helpful! You just have to level him up a bit... if there is one gripe about FFIV, it's that they dump low level characters on you constantly (Wait until you get to Mt. Ordeals). At least the game makes it easy to get characters to around the same levels fairly quickly.

Still, his healing song is so great, it's a no-cost regen spell. Also his sleep and confuse melodies are very helpful. He also does a decent amount of damage.
