Final Fantasy IV (DS)
« on: May 09, 2007, 05:06:21 pm »
Was rumored for a few days to be in development, but is now confirmed. Looks like this one will be going down the same path as the Final Fantasy III remake for the DS; same game, new graphics/features (which is ok with me!).

Anything else you hope to see from the game? I have yet to play Final Fantasy IV (I know...it's on my "list"!) but an online mode would be nice.

No online! NO ONLINE!

Agh! Cecil would lead the Red Wings into a blast furnace before he'd venture online!

What do I want? I want Comet to look badass and I want the some cutscenes. Other than that they will change NOTHING!

Also you need to fire up the emulator and play, just do it. Forget about it being the original experience or whatever, just play it so we can talk about it.

Yeah, I'm starting Final Fantasy IV right now. I don't know what the hell you just said, but I want to know, and I want to play the original before playing the remake.

But after that it's A Link to the Past. I've put off the game for far too long!

Curse me for skipping out on the SNES! Here I was preoccupied playing R.C. Pro-Am and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...not that that's a bad thing. :D

Cecil is the main character of FFIV and he is in charge of the Red Wings, an elite attack force that flies airships and whatnot.

Needless to say, Cecil frowns upon an online FFIV.

Red Wings, eh? The first thing that came to my mind was the NHL team...

Well, thanks for the info! Flying airships sound cool. I'm ready for it.

 :o

My dreams have come true.  Final Fantasy IV has always been my favourite Final Fantasy, seeing it in 3D is just fantastic.  However, I didn't much like the DS remake of III, in my opinion, they stuck too close to the original nes game.  Games that difficult are just stressful, not fun.  I hope with this one they realise they're allowed to actually change things, if it means making the game better.

But the original NES game was never released outside of Japan, so how would you know? ???

People translate ROMs... how do you think we got Mother?

Or maybe Winter can read Japanese.

Oh, right...

<_<

Heh, so that would explain why I got Secret of Mana 2 when I could have sworn that the game was never released in the States! :D

Like Pat said, the rom was translated.
My point was, the game was just too hard.  I don't mind challenging games, but level grinding and no save points just isn't fun to me.

That's probably why it wasn't released outside of Japan. :D

The Japanese trailer!

Hopefully this is good... and a sign that we will get a remake of FFVI sometime soon.

And some stupid stuff too.

How cool would it be if Square included an "Enhanced Mode" (what we've seen in the trailers/screenshots) as well as "Classic Mode", which would include all original text and graphics?

It'd never happen, but it would be an incredibly awesome package.
