This is what i want to create! Possible?
« on: April 14, 2007, 12:14:37 am »
My creature (the Bendix) will be intensely inspired from this creature(the one in the middle), which appears in Star Wars 2: Attack of the clones.
What i am wondering is if it is possible to create legs with no feet? Do you think it possible to make exoskeleton feet? I havent seen any confirmation on this yet..

*This is the best one i could find, since i don't know the name of it.

BTW Does anyone know the name of the actual Star Wars creature?

*loves Cosmosis for his ridiculous optimism* ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE! ;D

Supernerd to the semi-rescue!

That middle creature is called an Acklay. the others are the Nexu (left) and the Reek (right).

No need to thank me citizen, it's all in a day's not-work  ;D.

Ok, enough of that.

Yes it is from spore, it's been one of my favorites since I first saw the pic back in 2005 or 2006 ;D

O.O I want to make the nexu!

Also, I think ^ is from the advanced creature editor, along with frogger here and this dude

Though I may be wrong, and that may not be the final editor...

These aren't the creature editors really, these are much more powerful tools. Real, full powered 3D modellers.

I really hope those big black bugs were created in the Spore editor, and not the 3D modellers. I thought I heard somewhere that the pics of the frog and turtle aren't how the editor works anymore. i'm not sure where i heard it.

You're right, that big black and red crab-thing isn't going to be possible in spore anymore.  That's a test pic from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay long ago when they were still deciding if the editor should be cartoony or realistic, that was a realistic creature and he lost.  We're going to be using a "cartoony" editor so you may be able to make things like him but not quite as imposing looking.

To Cosmosis:  I'm betting that since all of those creatures have backbones and regular arrangements of limbs and such that you won't have much of a problem making them.  I think the hardest thing will be getting a creature to stand on spikey-feet like the Acklay, that could prove impossible.

the Ackley is a quapedal creature that walks a lot like today's lobster, but you might be able to make that.
after all, will said:
"the creature editor has virtully no limits, and if you wanted to make a creature with, let's say... an eye on it's butt and it's mouth on the other end, you can."

Damnit, I wanted realistic creatures...

Hmm... when I get spore, i'm gonna collect the most realistic creatures off each planet. Anything more cartoony than a willosaur will be destroyed. Except hugglebuff. The hugglebuff shall become demi-gods on many uplifted planets.

I think I'll do what Gcool did as well. Scour the galaxy of fakeness of any kind.

20 ft tall round purple trees? Incinnerated.

Green fuzz ball with three legs and a mouth on it's backside? Evaporated.

Purple-Green Planet with volcanos the size of continents? Annihilated.

...damn it, what do you people have against different coloured plants, 20ft tall is small for trees, purple (or violet) is just as likely as green.

...and the volcano thing to a lesser extend *builds a space sphere around planet* (I said space spheres cos aliens wouldn't call them Dyson Spheres...and if they did...*laughs*)
