I still find the matter of decorating our homes with flesh-eating corpses to be unnerving at best. But since we're on the subject...

I'd say that as long as the zombie still has arms, legs, or an intact jaw, it could infect you. Even with just a jutting bone, you could be stabbed and infected. So, if you need to have that macabre zombie-nailed-to-a-wall ornament, be sure it's extremeties have been properly hacked off and disposed off. Just to be safe.

A basic zombie
by robert graham

A zombie is a re-animated body.
However, this is 'almost' sientificly impossibe.
But thare is a parsite that can control the mind, forcing the human it inhabits to head for water.
Thease parisites then break through the skin, to remake its life cycle.
A parisite could evolve so it turns it's host callibalistic and aggressive, but not a dead body.

That wouldn't lead to the zombie-like properties which we observe.

Like I said, instead of focusing on why they are zombies, or how they can do what they can do, we should just decide on a list of traits and use that. After all, when you're being swarmed by them, who cares why they're up and eating people?

Well part of working out what to do is trying to find out what we are up against hence the in depth discussion into the very nature of zombie be it if they are raised by some necromantic spell or virus/parasite.

Well the simple answer, for me at least, is that their origin is supernatural. We can sit here and point out holes in one virus/parasite explanation after another, or we could just figure that the cause of the living dead is beyond the comprehension of mankind. Saves us time and trouble.

So, BAM! Some crazy paranormal shift/rift crap happens and now we have walking, flesh-eating corpses all over the place. That's my suggestion. Worry less about why and how they're here, and more about what we're gonna do.

Doesn't seem like it would work. After all, just because some crazy supernatural thing happens doesn't mean we get magical powers all of a sudden. Technology has always been the province of mankind, I suppose. So let's focus on how we're gonna get out of this deep trouble, doing what we can with what we've got.

If it's magic it stands to reason that they would be immortal, or that each part would act on its own even when separated from the body, or that they would regenerate.  In any case we would lose because we have to obey the laws of physics while they wouldn't.
Nefarious?  Nearly.  Ne’er-do-well?  Never!  Neither nearly names this narrator.  Naive and knowledgeable, notorious and inscrutable, this nascent Nero is known naturally as Neoadept.

Now, let's not get hasty here. I never said anything about magic, I said supernatural. Ghosts fall under the category of supernatural, but most of the stories about them don't mention magic. So, I think that when the crazy supernatural thing happened, it simply reanimated the dead bodies and instilled them with the desire to eat human flesh. They're basically walking corpses controlled by a brain. Why? We don't know, just be thankful they have a weakness!

Let's thank our lucky stars that zombie do not and can not ever exist.

And let's pray that come tomorrow what I said still holds true and I don't look like a total ass.

My thoughts exactly. That is the standard zombie on another site I frequent, and we all use it as the standard.

Supernatural doesn't mean it has to do with the divine either. By supernatural, I mean that they're operating on scientific principles that we cannot, and may not ever grasp. Basically zombies would be another natural phenomena that we can't explain without the proper advances in science.
