I'm not sure how single-death hate crime constitutes international news. I only thought the last one (not even a hate crime) was news because of its proximity to the British seat of government.

I'm sure more refugees died in one river on one border of one European country in the last day.

Well intentional vehicular mass homicide isn't that common here and there has been a spate of attacks/bad stuff in the news lately so they're just continuing the theme.

The contingency plan is hoping that my family's cheaply built house is more stable than my even cheaper current residence on the edge of a swamp.

EDIT: Where due to mandatory evacuations I'm now not even really allowed to be.

It's dragging along Cuba though, and it down to a category 3, which is the best thing that could be happening right now.
