If the technology for true, accurate mind-machine interfacing existed I don't think the first thing they'd be using it on is game controllers.

What esle would they use it for. Mind controlled tanks? Gaming might be a stupid thing to use it for, but when you think about you couldn't use it for anything else.
I think that if they make it smother this could be a great controller. Mabye we could use this for something else, like truth detectors or something for therapy.

Anything that needs a faster way of interfacing. Direct mind-reading style interfaces are unreliable, and thats why the only public use they seem to get is as expensive novelty gaming controls.

However, if someone does manage to tap in to a functional and reliable 'mind-control' system for gaming, what better market to aim for? Billions of dollars are out there in the gaming world to spend on developement. If someone could make something on par of ease of use as the Wii controller you would have a hit. Even if it was not totally successful as a gaming interface, image adapting it to the disabled.

I think therefore I play!... I know a few people however that will have very low scores. :)

Yeah, gaming is the probable the smarteest thing to use it for.

I think, and my thoughts cross the barrier into the synapses of the machine, just as the good doctor intended. But what I cannot shake, and what hints at things to come, is that thoughts cross back. In my dreams, the sensibility of the machine invades the periphery of my consciousness: dark, rigid, cold, alien. Evolution is at work here, but just what is evolving remains to be seen.

The Warrior's bland acronym, MMI, obscures the true horror of this monstrosity. Its inventors promise a new era of genius, but meanwhile unscrupulous power brokers use its forcible installation to violate the sanctity of unwilling human minds. They are creating their own private army of demons.

I wonder if this could be used to look at your dreams or something. I wonder what would happen if you wore it when you were asleep.

Since it just picks up vague EM signals from your brain, probably a handful of random inputs.

This isn't a mind reader, that's why they offered the game controller idea, because the only other commercial option is an expensive mouse that no one would buy.  And no, it's too imprecise to work as a keyboard so no thought to print machines.
Nefarious?  Nearly.  Ne’er-do-well?  Never!  Neither nearly names this narrator.  Naive and knowledgeable, notorious and inscrutable, this nascent Nero is known naturally as Neoadept.

I now it isn't a mind reader, but even when your asleep it would pick up something.

The thing to truly fear will be if it only reads your sub-conscious mind's signals. Imagine pop-up ads and inadvertent clicking of them because your sub-conscious mind 'thought it would be a good idea'.

(singing)
I fear, the secrets that you keep,
When you’re clicking in your sleep…
