"Hi!" and new pics!
« on: March 08, 2007, 09:53:16 am »
Hi there!  ;D
I'm following this forum for some time now and I'm also very fascinated of Spore.
Because of this, I went to the GC in Leipzig last year and also got my hands on the creature editor.
Luckily a friend of mine made some pictures of it,
aaaaand
here they are:

That's my creature, but my friends made some too. I just have to find the other pictures  ;)
Have fun!  :)

Welcome to the forum. I have to admit, out of all the creatures I have seen from the editor, yours is one of the coolest I have seen. I also wouldn't mind seeing that in my game. If you have more pictures, please post them.

Yeah, I came to this thread expecting to see the mods yelling at a new poster for putting up old stuff.  That's a very cool critter you've got there.  I want to see what happens when it blinks.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Cool Creature... The only thing I'd change would be the eyes, making them more of a consistent pattern, and the center feet, making them like the other feet. And maybe make the back ones hooved.

Its cool to see new parts tho!

Thank you all  :)
I'll do my best.

Okay, here we go:

This happened, when I wanted to see my creature walking, roaring, attacking, ect...

Some kind of graphic bug...  ;D
but when I removed one pair of legs...

...it worked fine.
But I like the three legged version much more.

Have fun!

Haha, loved your pictures. Your first two pics of your creature in the test area show why the game is still being developed  :P. And I loved seeing how they morphed each part for the offspring.

Looks funny.
Making bigger hands or a bigger head is often a good way to make something look cuter.  ;D
Maybe it would look better if the baby-creatures had smaller or no horns and spikes at all.

Cool stuff. Thank you.
I was actually thinking yesterday that I'd like to see a creature that walks on all fours, so to speak.

sweet creature man.  Weird that it went all gzzzhhhttt!!!! cuz of the middle pair of legs.

I wish more people would sculpt the legs and arms of their creatures more.  I'm getting a bit tired of the stick legs everywhere.  Then again, I guess time constraints really limit how much sculpting one can do..

It came that way, but I was able to rotate and to stretch it lika a metal spiral.

tell us how is the feeling to play with the creature editor and did you saw any cool new features?

I can only repeat what everyone says about the editor: It's very very simple to use.
Unfortunately I hadn't much time to try out more  :-\.

Well, it's good to see that more people who are using the editor are actaully making creatures and not just seeing if they can break it. Excellent creature man, especially if it was rushed. Good job!

Okay, last pictures I found:

Kind of raptor made by a friend of mine. Unfortunately it's the only picture of it.

A creature made by another friend. Thanks to the flowers on it, it looks very...uhm.. evil... ;D

IMO, the textures are looking very good and detailed.

Think back to the sim games my friend.  Did how they look ever affect their abilities?  No.  Did that fact decrease sales or make it less fun?  No.  Did it make the sim series a classic?  Yes.  No need to worry, my friend...

Cool pics you got there.

I noticed some 'clipping' errors ( a lot of games that did this got patched to fix the issue, however seeing as Spore has a ways to go before release they can fix that before it gets out even )

The babies are uber cute, like all babies are ;)
