Oh, shame, I was really hoping for a TNG or more recent series for the movie basis.

I'm pretty sure the TNG story was pretty solidly concluded when Data died, y'know?  :P
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

The Redshirts never get any love.

It should be called "Star Trek: The Redshirt Movie".

The movie would chart the trials and tribulations of a humble ensign as he works through Star Fleet academy and finally gains berth aboard the Enterprise. The movie would end suddenly with his death on some desert planet.

Actually it is going to be a love/murder drama. "Star Trek: The Red Shirt Diaries". The story of the erotic encounters of Star Fleet officers with lower ranking crew and their 'accidental' deaths on far-away planets. Was it murder? Was it really an accident? Was it jealousy? Was it Wesley in the holodeck reprogramming Data to kill Yarr with his lead pipe? Tune in tomorrow for another thrilling episode!

OK, despite what I said earlier, I'll probably watch this.

A wise Surface to Air Missile once said about marrying 9 year olds in Saudi Arabia "Its pretty hard to tell if a 9 year old is going to be hot when she grows up, kids change a lot, usually, seems like a bad system. That cute little nine year old you married could end being a fat, zitty teenager."

No.  This better be a Canadian "joke."

For a moment I thought you meant Robin Williams. ::)

Lets just hope if this guy is going to be the one that he can act at least decently.

And that perhaps the dye or wig don't look too obvious.

Considaring his strong british accent I hope he can actually put on a decent American accent. Through that i think he would be a bit old to play a young Kirk.

I have a great idea, why dont they send all the old actors to a plastic surgeon to turn back time and they can play their younger selves :D
Good Grief!

Someone's been watching too much Adult Swim  ::)

Well if Hugh Laurie can pull off an American accent that well, we know at least that it's possible.
