OH! I also  have an actual gripe.

Gas cans with those stupid collapsible spouts. They aren't better and they make a mess half the time.

My, uh, resourceful neighbor had a potluck party on 4/20 and I completely wasn't attending to the date. It was 9PM before I realized my mistake.

Man, most of my friends think the same way.

New Vegas is "too boring" and "slow" and it "doesn't make any sense".

I don't understand who could possibly be dumb enough to earnestly hold that view.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

im not normally the kind of person to think my tastes are superior or whatever (some of my friends are like that with music and it drives me crazy) but honestly... that particular opinion really gets on my nerves.

Just comparing the two games side-by-side... New Vegas has everything and more and better.

I haven't played any of them.  Who is worse, me or them?
Probably not a Goat, either.

They are worse, Ink.

You're still going to the rack, but they are worse.

A friend was celebrating his 30th birthday this weekend.  He wanted to do an escape room and had already bought his ticket when he told us this, so he kind of put everyone invited in a weird position from the start.  I didn't really want to spend 20 bucks to be in a room and I'm getting screwed over every which way on money lately.  I let him know early on I wouldn't make the escape room but met up with the group after for dinner and then drinks.

Dinner was fine, but he was in a bit of a funk for the rest of the night.  He was mad at a few guys for being flaky and not showing up, when they've been like that the entire time we've known them and have mostly bailed on the group.  There was other stuff but I won't bore you with more little details.  The guy is rather stonefaced and hard to read.  We were trying to make things fun but I could tell he was cranky for a lot of it, which was stressing me out.  Things didn't go exactly the way he had planned, they didn't for my 30th either.  But if he had been flexible and looked on the bright side and he would have had a better time.  Or maybe he was having a good time and that's just how he is?  I dunno.  I tried.
Probably not a Goat, either.

That's kinda sad. Sounds like he had a really rigid expectation for that celebration but it didn't go as he planned.
At least he didn't have a pissy temper tantrum about it. I got to enjoy a bit of that.

Don't take it to heart though. I'm sure he was glad you guys were there. If anything I'd just pity the poor guy. He made it so important in his head and it fell short. Might have been even bigger than you think since it's the big 3-0.
Maybe check in with him soon, see how he is. Dunno how often you guys all see each other but when he levels out a bit it might be worth talking about that day, see if he can get a bit of closure if it's necessary. Otherwise it might linger for quite awhile, might give him the wrong conclusion that it was a bad time when in reality it was pretty good.
Not sure though. I'm not a doctor.

Just... man. The pissy attitudes some people get sometimes, dude. I just wanna be like "aw you gonna be a baby does baby want his ice cweam does baby wanna change his dipey baby wanna watch backyardigans and have a nappy nap".
But that stays inside 'cause otherwise I look like the dickhead. :u

My biggest pet peeve is people not showing at or being present at a previously agreed time.

Doubly so if I don't figure this out until enough time has passed after the target time that it's obvious I was blown off.

If I wanted my friends around for the birthday that marks the first decade of life without any years left of youth, and then they proceeded to no-show, it would probably ruin the entire thing for me too.
