Is Gaming Steve in Prison?
« on: February 09, 2007, 07:40:00 pm »
He's been gone for a looong time.... Maybe he snuck into Will Wright's office in a crazy attempt to bring Spore to the masses but was caught? Should we send a rescue team?

From what I understand --

Steve has a child now. That keeps him busy.
Steve is with a game company working on something. That also keeps him busy.
Steve doesn't have time for much else at the moment. He's just plain busy!

I'm sure Steve is just fine and dandy. You may see him check in on the forum now and then, but not for too long.
I certainly think we're holding out pretty good despite the lack of main site content.

A rescue team may cause a few problems if he doesn't need to be rescued.
What if he was imprisoned on purpose to go under deep cover? If we rescued him, we'd fudge it up.
No, I think we'll let him do whatever it is he's doing.

..though I'd still sure like a brief update, how he's doing, and etc.

Maybe this "child" of his is really Spore and HE'S PLAYING IT RIGHT NOW!

Steve is a good looking man and I bet he has to beats the wimmins off with a stick but still, I think he is either in a prison cell somewhere being tortured right now, or he is testing/playing Spore.

A Rescue team you say...

"I'll Go!" Shouted a voice from the crowd. Everyone parted, only to see that Oviraptor, The Fourm's first mod had been the one to volunteer.
"I Too!" Came another voice. Again people parted to see, LadyM had too decided to join up.
"Don't forget about me!" Rang out yet another voice as people once more parted to see Krakow Sam, The fourm's top poster had also come forward.
"I will come with," Started another voice. Patman's it seemed. "but I really have to ask that people stop parting. We're running out of room to part."
More posters stepped forward from the crowd. Vivec, Samog,  Werechicken almost did but then decided against it for reasons related to market research, 762, Celdur, Syphonbyte, Daxx, Daxx's Previously Unknown identical twin of the same name who happens to be a Doctor, Behumat,Gauphastus, Hydromancerx, Kaze (Kaze? Yeah why not.), Mr.Wizard, and of course I. The Narrator of this story, Sgore.

This is the ultimate showd...I mean *Ahem*...

And So Our Party of Seachers was off...On to begin their quest for the wearabouts of Steve.

The Sky was Clear, the air was clean and all looked well...That is until they came across the Pirates.

What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

I dunno, some weird guy that has his own site. He's kind of nerdy.

But seriously, I don't think Steve will even come back to this site. And that means no more new members. Yes, this will be good at first, but think about. Eventually people will leave, yes the n00bs that don't that can't handle or don't like this place will leave first, but in a year or two the people that come here the most might leave, and there will be no one to replace them. Eventually the forum will die from lack of people.

I doubt it.  The bloke still pays for the upkeep of the site every month; if he had no intention of updating again, then he'd stop paying.  Also there will be plenty of members who feel very attached to the forums, and won't want to leave or stop coming.  There'll still be some activity - I remember an old RTS clan that I left years ago is still going strong, and I left because it was going stale and nobody was doing anything vaguely gaming related.

Not if he died or is in jail or something.
