Professor Layton & the Mysterious Village (DS)
« on: February 01, 2007, 08:13:02 pm »
Professor Layton & the Mysterious Village is an original game from Level-5, the development house behind DQ VIII, the Dark Cloud franchise, Rogue Galaxy, and the upcoming games DQ IX (for the DS) and White Knight Story (for the PS3). It's the first game published on their own and the first to appear on a non-Sony platform. It mixes a variety of puzzles together in a mystery that is heavily influenced by anime.

To find more in-depth information for the game, head here.
If you'd like to watch the first trailer for the game, it's available as well.

Even though this game is still relatively unknown, I was thrilled to hear of a Level-5 game appearing on the DS prior to DQ IX releasing. It's a very unique game for them and it appears they've put a lot of thought into its presentation and gameplay. The fact that they've yet to let me down (other than the True Fantasy Live Online fiasco) is another reason I wanted to mention it.

Actually, this game sounds like exactly the kind of thing that I'd like. Nice find.

I would have posted when the topic was made, but I had a reason not to. This is self-evident.
