Maybe they'll go to some kind of... I dunno... like, a stack-based system?

Whatever you want to call it. Maybe they can let us have more than one unit per tile. It'd definitely change the way the game is played.

I never liked the stacks and honestly thought Civ V's last problem was the combat. It's total lack of depth (vanilla) was glaring not the mediocre combat (Japan FTW tho).

If Civ could do something like total war or AoW that'd be such a change of script that I doubt it'd ever happen.
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

My facetiousness aside, I like the idea of timing games for combat.

Probably wouldn't work in Civ. But it'd work in Elder Scrolls. Maybe if I hit A right when my strike lands, I get a second strike. You know, Paper Mario style. And you can chain and build your combos that way. Anything... anything is better than what we have now. That pale elf took a greatsword through the face and is still coming at me. WUT?

I recently did something extremely foreign in that I started playing Skyrim permanently in 3rd person cam using a controller. It's a different experience, but surprisingly, not in a bad way. The OTS cam provides a more cinematic feel to melee attacks, executions feel more fluid and less jarring, and the added vibrations from the controller support provide some of the desperately lacking feedback. I recommend giving it a go.

Back to playing Sim Golf here and there.

Anyone ever play this game? It's fantastic! Really great golf course design game and you can even build your own golfer and play the course to win prizes in tournaments (if your course is good enough to host one). Not sure if many people bought this when it was originally out. But it's very fun and has a lot of depth.

A tolerable preview with commentary.

Funky. I've been looking at going and playing more sims.

I've been playing Binding of Isaac: Rebirth all the time, with helpings of Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV.

Outside of that I haven't been getting into games for most of this year, oddly enough. Been too busy and otherwise tied up in other stuff.
:O
Also, Gunner is one of the children.
It's true.

Started playing around with Endless Legend tonight. I was super disappointed when I first bought it because in the past I was never too interested in military victory 4x games, and EL might have other routes but is very blatantly focused on military and aggressive expansion, to the point that there's an in-game resource which you have to spend to even offer any sort of diplomatic action, whether or not the other person accepts. War is cheaper than peace. I also am still not a fan of the ascetic of we-can't-decide-if-we're-fantasy-or-science-or-magic-science-or-whatever.

All that being said, once you go into it well aware you're playing a military strategy game, it's not so bad. There are imho some problems with how technologies are ordered to each age, but I like the simplified Civ city management where you assign people to work resources rather than tiles or buildings. They put the formula for each resource's production right in front of you and make it really easy for you to see how your changes affect progress.

Started playing destiny again, it's about as bad as I remember, but hey they hand out gear a lot easier than before!

I've been playing No More Room in Hell Dodgeball, oddly enough. I kind of wish it was its own game with its own set of maps and bigger selection of mechanics.

Also I've been getting into CSGO the past few months. I'm MG2 with 86 wins. It's fun.

Just finished a mission to take out 47 enemies on a transport. Then a small ship showed up with 7 enemies, fine whatever, easy.

Then this happens less than a few hours later.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-

**EDIT**
Cool the mission got an awesome codename.
