Went back to Mario 3D World on the Wii U to finish it up.
It is still a flawed, inferior Mario game. Which is really a shame because they have a lot of great ideas and levels and seem to have had fun. But as I've already gone to in-depth several times, they flubbed the controls and the camera is strange. Got to Star World though and am working through it. Beyond the struggles with the controls, the levels are too easy and short. But I appreciate that each one is usually different, like in Galaxy. But even with Galaxy I had issues with something concerning the levels. I'm not sure what it is with the newer levels.
The actual level design is on-point, but there just seems to be no depth to the levels. All of the secrets are pretty obvious if you're familiar with how they hide things in Mario games. And none of those secrets offer anything really great outside of a convenient power-up.
Probably gonna finish the rest of the game today. I'll go back to Captain Toad next. Still have bonus levels to complete and a few challenges.
MEEEEEEEEEEOWWWWWW!
