If you listen to music on your desktop computer...
« on: January 26, 2007, 12:50:18 pm »
You probably have a music player of some sort. What do you actually do while listening? Browse the Internet? Stare at the wall? Play Solitaire? Watch the visualzation?

That's the question here, what visualization or media player do you use?

Yeah, [Kishmond] came back from Africa, but the ponies have him now.

I usually browse the web while listening to most music, or play games. If I listen to classical though, I can't help but draw. Sometimes if I buy a new song(rarely) or CD I'll just sit there, but even then I'm imagining action scenes with cast of imaginary superheroes.

Depends on OS, but usually minimised media player whilst I'm working.

As inspired by Dirk Gently, I would like a visualizer that procedurally generates Sofas based on the music I'm listening to... alas I have none such an item. I do like the general bars and waves stuff though. Anything that actually responds to the music itself I give more concideration to then visualizations that go regardless of what's playing.
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

I put iTunes on miniplayer, and then I just.. do whatever I want to do. MSN, surf the web, photoshop, flash, whatever.

Im usually on the internet when I listen to music. It makes it more interesting(the internet I mean)

Depends on OS

At first, I thought that said "Napoleon on DS" and I was very intrigued.

Most of my music listening goes on in Samplitude or Reason, where I make my own music.
But other than that I use Winamp, browsing the internet or playing Solitaire actually :P

And when I'm not using iTunes, I'll be playing records (yeah one of those turntable things)

Usually I'm working and listening to music so I never really bother with visualisers, but I use iTunes for last.fm

If it's really multi-instumented with easily defined points of sound (bang, bam, ting) I usually visualize a battle in my head, somewhere between 1750 era tech and 1900 era tech. Oh yeah, and lots and lots of artillery.  ;D

Otherwise I usually search for what song to play next, work on a homework assignment, or, if it's classical, read.

powsh...

Gregory Yalkmkov started talking.

"Well, for my 16th birhtday I got an iPod, which I was suspicious of at first, but when I actually got iTunes and converted my library, I really liked it, so that's what I use now. It's cool."

He came to.

" ... Wait... I'm not 16... and what's an i-"

Crakk!
