Cheats
« on: March 19, 2005, 09:56:11 am »
Do you think they will blatantly tell everyone about the differentn cheats for the game just like in all the other Maxis games? If so I think they shouldn't allow those galaxies to upload objects to the database. I mean it would be fun have unlimited power in this game but, I wouldn't want to have to deal with other "trained" up creatures.

Maybe they won't have any cheats but based on previous history however.......

What sort of cheats could there be, increase money quickly, advance quickly, get technology early?

Look at the other Sims games, they've always had money cheats in them. However they haven't had to deal with anything like this before.

[Edit] Jayce, is your avatar from the animated Hobbit or something?

There will probably be a sandbox-mode where you can cheat while the "online-mode" will be without cheats.

I wonder if we could just have a mode that was completly creature editor. So we could mess around to our hearts content and see how they acted...huh, I guess that's kinda the real game isn't it.

Well, a money cheat wouldn't REALLY tilt your creature's balance too much.

You could have earned that money simply by eating A LOT and not spending it until late in the game.

I believe uploaded content is sorted (probably by ecological niche, strength, speed, etc...) so if your creature is REALLY strong thanks to a money cheat, then players whose games need a creature of that strength (according to the game's internal need lists) would download it, but it could just as easily download another creature of the same strength bought with hard earned funds.

*shrug*

I'm more interested in more cutesy type cheats, like   "ctl+alt+c,  type 'NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST'"    ;D

Quantum you need to go get ahold of EVO, tell me how easy it is to save up points in a game about evolution.  8)

Methinks this is how its going to go down. It's probably not going to be one of those games that is more fun with cheats on.

Yeah, what fun would it be to kill all other creatures. Proabably not very good for the environment either. Imagine a world with ONLY humans, you've got yourself a problem.

I agree. A game like Spore would be more fun without cheats.

Thank you. Its all true. I may have hated The Sims (and even more so with every expansion pack) but I take it all back about Will. He can still make good games. As this proves.

If it turns out to be terrible, then I never said anything. ;-)

Have EVO, and while I admit, it is HARD to save up points, it's not impossible, you just won't PROGRESS much and be forced into a grinding type game for a LONG time.

Most won't do it....   but you'll probably find ONE or TWO crazys.

Actually I meant the one before that that said "Molyneux must be kicking himself right now."

I imagine a lot of character unlocking cheats of pre created creatures... like a llama:P
Or that sim city advisor, or ET... They have always had some pretty funny easter eggs.
I survived the flood of 2008 and all I got was this crappy homelessness.
