My absoloute all-time favourite band. They're music is varied and just plain brilliant. The members (paticularaly KC) are all actually talented, and they're lyrics are top notch.

Who agrees with me?

Yeah, they're pretty good. The thing I've never been able to understand about them is why everyone seems to prefer Nevermind over In Utero, which is a way better album IMO.

Also, in before flaming.

Nirvana has a lot of good stuff, but their something I dont like about Kurt Cobain. He was so strange, although not worse then Courtney Love, he was wierd. I know that his childhood was bad and that he was bullied, but still, he took his own life and left his 2 year old daugther with that hag Courtney Love. I mean, poor daughter.

you think he took his own life, i think courtny love killed him, the doctors said there was so much herion in him when he was dead that he wouldnt have been able to lift his arm, let alone a shotgun.
Right on

There's always the Dave Grohl killed him to use to pursue his own career eventually with the Foo fighters of course that all falls apart when you see dave is to cool for murder. It would be interesting to see what kind of music we would have if Kurt would Dave have gone off and done Foo fighters as a side project would they have been as successful?

Since when does the lead singer's background decide wether a band plays good music?

..Oh, wait.. since ever.
anyway, I like Nirvana music a lot. Not my favorite band, but an awesome band nevertheless.

Woah, woah, woah. Nirvana are not a Metal Band. Thier style was supposed to be an opposition to glitzy, crap, metal.

You can tell Metal apart from Grunge by a simple formula, if it sucks, it's metal or Pearl Jam. Over and out.

its all a matter of opinion

i personally think that Kobain failed at guitar and his music was simple and repetitive. but hey, if u enjoy listening to simple and repetitive music be my guest  ::)

i think KC was one of the most interersting people you'll hear about.

Yeah in Utero is their best album by far. Nevermind is good to listen to but i don't really like it because (from an artistic point of view) its one of the worst albums ever.

its just power chords. some of them (such as polly) are completely and utterly made of power chords.
very little musical skill at all is needed to make songs out of powerchords, you can make one after playing guitar for like a week.

they are very very good powerchord songs but that doesn't change the fact.

I like Nirvana. "Drain You" is a damn good song (considering it's completely crazy lyric wise) , along with others, though I'm not much listening to them now.

polly is completely powerchords and the bass for it is just the root noot for each powerchord played simultaniously.

apart from the solo and literally a few other notes, smells like teen spirit is a powerchord song.

the same goes for In Bloom

i can't play any other songs on that album so i dunno if they are but i'd bet most of them are unless by pure chance the songs i chose to learn just happened to be the powerchord songs on the album/
