That "50% of marriages end in divorce" statistic has always seemed a bit fishy to me. It's too easy, too rounded off. And the statistic I'd be more interested in is how many first time marriages end in divorce. But it turns out that the answer seems to be a bit more complicated than some anecdotal 50/50 chance.
