<Game design Vid>

I literally chortled and guffawed during and after this video.
It was uncomfortable.

Damn that makes me mad. I would never respect a school trying to trick people to sign up like this. Game Design is a lot of work and take a lot of skill to become good at. And here is portrait like a cushy job where you play games all days and just push buttons to add effects here or there. That is not even close to game design! And what they "play" does not even look like a game at all. Grr...

Honestly, that ad should of been advertising  'game testing' rather  then 'Game Design'

Even working at the Quality Assurance department takes a lot of skill. But sadly they often hire anyone to actually work there. The in house testers however should be fairly educated in collecting data and formating it so one can communicate the information to the designers and so on. Basic knowhow in programming is also useful as you can communicate error a bit more easy. Someone really good at testing games can reverse engineer the program in there mind and see how a bug happens.

Actually from what I hear, being a game tester is one of the most miserable jobs around.

Yep... That is pretty much it.. Even if you have education in the field that can prove useful the risk are you going to do a lot of boring testing for days on end with very little pay. And you will not be well respected ether. Risk is that everyone will hate you ether for pointing out flaws or for not doing it.

And don't care if it is a repost.
