Oh yeah. That makes it even more troubling.

This is a con as old as the dirt.

Nobody is being forced to invest in anything. Buyer beware is always a thing.

Honestly why give Musk **** for trying to make money to put a man on Mars when most other billionaires are building monopolies and inflating the prices of commodities people need to live. Frankly, PR or no and knowing scam or no, at least the likes of Elon Musk, Richard Branson and Bill Gates behave in the way billionaires are meant to in the popular conception and in line with the way capitalism ideally works. They made their own money through their own ingenuity, they make some flamboyant decisions and back larger than life projects. Some of them also give heavily to charity. It's the likes of the Waltons that need to be kicked in the taint.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

I think Thunderfoot has a point sometimes. But often he is just trying to get clicks it seems. This is one of the cases.

The Hyperloop (Which by the way is a stupid name) is a old concept that should work. It just a spin of the VacTrain concept. It would likely be expensive to develop. You after all building what amount to a ultra high speed maglev track. And those are not cheep. But that technology is actually a proven concept and has even had some limited commercial value.

Thunderfoot make it all sound that is a scam and that is absolutely impossible. (Even some of his simple math is off. So I do not get what up with that.)

But this is doable. It within what we can do now with current technology. Parts of it has already been demonstrated. Vacuum tubes have build in small scale. Heck Pneumatic tubes are a 19th century innovation. MagLev a 20th century one. There is no magic here. What is take is just engineering and infrastructure investment.

The only question one really needs to look at is if it would be economical feasible to do the project. What returns for such investment could one expect? This could be the true nail in the coffin.

There's a moment in the middle about laughing and crying. I think Gladwell and Colbert had a genuine disagreement and it was neat to watch.

This guy is the voice of Roger Rabbit... he goes a little off the rail towards the end, but it is fun.

Dr. Teeth and & The Electric Mayhem live at a music festival.  It makes me very happy that this exists.
