Hrm..people are going to disagree with me but..oh well.
I happened to read the local newspaper today and some guys house caught fire, it was not a large fire, a chair caught fire and it spread up a wall. Living in the house was 1 man and his 8 cats. The fire fighters refused to let the man go in and rescue the cats. 3 survived, 4 died and 1 is unaccounted for. My question is..why?
It was the mans own house, the mans cats and the only persons safety that would have been at risk was his own. I don't really feel the fire fighters had any business stopping him especially since the fire was not severe. The firefighters stopped the man and then failed to rescue his animals that died from smoke inhalation.
I am sure many (most, all) of you will disagree but I don't really think anyone has any business stopping you from doing something that may put you in danger, when the only person that would be in danger is you. Suicide is illegal because many that commit it have psychological issues. Drugs are illegal because you can harm another person under them.
But really I don't see a reason why the guy couldn't go rescue his own pets, in his own house. Of course it is only my opinion.
