Which bands can you really not stand?

  • Blink 182. They are terrible
  • Nickelback definitely deserve a mention
  • Most all rap, if that even counts as music.
  • the entire Maroon 5/James Blunt genre of woman-centric whinerock
  • Panic! at the disco.
  • Gwen Stefani.
  • Anything rave, rap, techno or dance.
  • "MTV artists"
  • Justin Timberlake, the worst "artist" ever
All seconded!

Add anyone who uses video clips as an excuse to have models in skimpy clothes rub up against them while mouthing the lyrics their studio wrote for them (i.e. almost everything on TV these days).

Also add anything classed as "pop".

I hate all the bitches on VH1 rock countdown.
Especially the ones who wear makeup.
There are people on TV who dont wear makeup?

Listen to their drummer sometime. He's great at it. not the "percussionist", by the way.
And the guitar is not for solos or melodies, it's rhythm guitar to fill in the empty sound area left by the other instruments. And listen to the pulse of the maggots solo and then tell me how much of a guitarist he is. And I think they have 2 backing vocalists...Corey Taylor is lead though.
"They have a good drummer" is such a cop-out argument for defending a bad band.
Quote from: Dr. David Thorpe
Dave Matthews Band
The Best Of What's Around Volume 1

The Dave Matthews band is the ultimate example of the “good drummer law.” If ever you say something bad about a band and somebody says “yeah, well they had a really good drummer,” the band is even worse than you thought, and the person who made the remark is mentally unfit to be considered human. It is the ultimate weak-ass argument, and it is the last resort of the truly ****ing clueless.

Take pity on the poor soul who invokes the good drummer. Buy him a lollypop and a copy of Phil Collins’ “No Jacket Required,” and mercifully prod him into the nearest active volcano.
Metal guitar solos, as a rule, are bad. Nu metal ones, more so. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that this is no exception unless someone proves otherwise by linking to the song...

Opium of the people. There isn't a guitar solo, but the guitar is generally really good in that song. And try listening to circle or vermillion part 2.

Okay, I'll try to listen to them. I can't promise I'll succeed.

Oh, also: Placebo.

While I agree with hating pop music, one of my all time favorite bands is considered "pop-punk" whatever the hell that means.

Yeah, they are pretty much the only example of pop that I like.
By the time you finish reading this signature, I've gotten into your house, stolen your t.v., and re-decorated the place so that it fits with your hipster lifestyle.

Also, just about any rap in existance.

Goriilaz are good though.

I had a row with my girlfriend about Gwen Stefani. She said Gwen Stefani was "Like Grunge..".

No idea what in hell she is talking about.

Yes, I am aware of the irony.

Maybe she meant "Like gunge", as in bilious and thoroughly unpleasant.

"Like Grunge"? I don't think I like your girlfriend, Balthamael...

Abba is more like Grunge than Gwen Stefani...
grunge is a genre of music...but that's all I know about it.
It happens to be my favourite genre of music...

To illustrate why:
Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Jerry Cantrell - Anger Rising

I'd like to see someone juggle a bunch of cats, but that doesn't mean I'd call it good music.

The only things that I could decipher from that message were:

1. You hate rap, and think it should go to a class.
2. You only like horrible types of music.
3. Angry Face likes to see people play songs of their own creation.

Slipknot is not hard to play; not that you'd want to bother in the first place.

Yes. Of course.
