Creature Attribute System - !!ANOTHER UPDATE!!
« on: November 29, 2006, 05:26:52 pm »
I've been thinking up of some standardized icons, sort of like badges or points. This is sort of a way to quickly associate our creature's personality and makeup when describing it. I've made my first set of them which can be used to define your creatures personality. You can use these in your creature threads in the Creature Creation Boards. And yes, I drew and animated these myself.

If you have any ideas as to updating or adding new attributes, please tell me. The URLs for the icons can be found at the
C.A.S. Icon Gallery

Personality Classifications

Note: These can be combined, but certain combinations will not work so read each description carefully.

Tough
Creatures who generally like to fight and depend mostly on brute strength. They show little or no fear but are a little slow in speed and intelligence. Though they are all not generally picking fights, they are capable of making their share of good deeds and contributing to the wellfare of other races through alliances and trade. Though they still can't learn to behave in public like a mannered intellectual.
    Traits also include:
  • Industrious
  • Expansive
  • Honorable
  • Imperialistic

Fierce
These creatures are a threat to everyone else including Tough creatures. They differ from tough being that they have no natural affection and are mostly pure evil. They are also more intelligent and calculative. Creatures of this caliber display appalling behavior that make Tough look like small time. Due to this behavior, Fierce are isolated and have difficulty making alliances other than with fellow Fierces.
    Traits also include:
  • Organized
  • Expansive
  • Imperialistic
  • Untrustworthy
  • Xenophobic

Weird
The ways of the Weird are usually indirectly offensive. Creatures who are Weird practice ways that are bizarre and strange, so much that the general galactic public do not consider them apart of normal interstellar society. Are these races a force of good or evil? Nobody knows, but it's safe to say they are quite neutral and unchangeable.
    Traits also include:
  • Industrious
  • Protective
  • Creative
  • Influencible

Intelligent
Creatures who are generally accepted as the leaders of mental enlightenment and advancement of civilization. Though at times haughty and a little emotionless, Intelligents are a common force of good. Naturally, they are the first ones to reach perfect evolution. They exercise their power to quickly settle wars and bring peace. They naturalize lesser advanced races into interstellar society and observe other forms of life. Though they are generally weak in strength, they more than make up for in technological and intellectual prowess. Logic is everything.
    Traits also include:
  • Organized
  • Charismatic
  • Expansive
  • Creative
  • Philosophical

Gentle
Curious and friendly, Gentles are the founders of good diplomacy. They are charismatic and open to every race they meet. They bring races together and set an example among interstellar society. Though they loathe war, it does not mean they are incapable of defending themselves and for what is right. The are also the most emotionally complex and culturally diverse kind of creatures out there.
    Traits also include:
  • Industrious
  • Organized
  • Charismatic
  • Creative
  • Honorable
  • Trustworthy
  • Influencible

Timid
Timids are cowards. Though they share some traits as the Gentles, they are distrustful of others and are difficult to close a deal. If you plan on making allies with them, it will take some time. On the other hand, some will be quick to make allies with stronger ones as a means for their self protection. They can at times prove to be a valuable ally. Being that they are smarter than Gentles, they may be hidding away some undiscovered goods and technology that could be useful. Don't underestimate a Timid.
    Traits also include:
  • Protective
  • Cowardly
  • Xenophobic
  • Secretive
  • Influencible

Greedy
Greedies are the lords of the galactic market. They control much of the political government and commerce and are focused on secular and material goals only. Though they help bring about better standards of living for all civilizations, they also bring hardships toward small and local business. Greedies are not innocent of their dirty works, so they are not entirely a force of good. However, they are a major source for sale of goods and trade, whether it be legal or not.
    Traits also include:
  • Industrious
  • Organized
  • Expansive
  • Financial
  • Untrustworthy
  • Self-Centered

Devout
The creatures of spiritual enlightenment. Depending on the teachings of their beliefs, they can be passive or aggressive. But all devouts are persistent upholders and protectors of tradition, which can make them stubborn and unchangeable. They will make their means to spread the word to other races as well. Despite the good intentions of some Devouts, they are most of the time the cause of many wars. Nonetheless, they continue on their path of ascention into the next life. A popular saying among many Devout speaks that, "If you do not believe, your life is meaningless."
    Traits also include:
  • Charismatic
  • Protective
  • Spiritual
  • Creative
  • Philosophical

Very nice. A few suggestions of my own based on the different kinds of alien races here in the forums and in popular culture:

Religious (Theocratic), Xeno-Phobic, Self-Centered, Secretive, Philosophical, Weak Personalities (Influenced).

Added some new ones.

I will also be making points for Speed, Strength, Stealth, Herbivore, Carnivore, and Intelligence. Then I'll make some to classify Ground, Flying, and Swiming creatures.
