3D Spore Figures
« Reply #151 on: June 03, 2008, 03:14:19 pm »
So as many of you already know I am sure, there have been several articles like http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/11/spore-figurines-at-e3/ & http://www.sporerevolution.com/2006/08/spore_figurines.html which mention 3D models possibly being available.  Was wondering if anyone had any new information or...how fricking excited are people about this prospect?!?!

Some pictures I have found of the prototypes that were shown to press and VIPs:

This is,if it turns out to actually become an option, by far one of the coolest things Spore brings for me.  It also scares me since I am a collector and will buy models regardless of price. :(

LOL

Ohh asymmetrical creatures. Shame it's based off of old creatures/information.

This has already been discussed I think.

Try using the search button next time.

Spore figurines would be more awesome than "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"

I have heard that they are extremely fragile, however. Oh well. I probably won't be getting one, I mean..I'm not THAT obsessed.  But if you put a lot of work into thinking out a creature, like some of the people in the creation corner, I think you should get one. Depending on price, that is.
They're collectible! Sorta...

True but regardless it is a neat feature if they implement it.

And as far as I know, even with the new video's sketchy audio, we still have no set verdict on symmetry.

And I tried to search, I just suck at it I guess. :(

Few more pics I found from last November, or around then:

And one of the pics from joystick.com's report on the model they got as a gift (2006):

And one more pic...I love them so!

Let's hope not, but if I had more than enough, I would have these guys do the figurine instead of Maxis.

Yeah, you're right. These figurines are way more detailled than those from Maxis. But i think (/hope) that the Maxis ones won't be that expensive....

The rumors, which are that...rumors, place the prices at anywhere from $10 to $20 a pop.

Here's hoping!! ;)
