Does anyone else here watch Stargate SG-1? If so, what did you think about last night's episode?

Ohmigod...I love SG-1 and Atlantis. ;_; However, I record the episodes on TiVo and watch them later at a time that is more comfortable for me. And I hate waiting for Season 2-parters. So I know nothing of that episode. The episode before it however...well...who can forget the death of that one guy who is evil and I won't say in case people don't know that he's dead and I spoil it for them. >_>

I'll just say this: The episode deals with two very controversial issues: time travel and alternate realities.

Guest starring: Don S. Davis and David Hewlett

I love the show, watch it whenever I can, usually on Mondays. Richard Dean Anderson is God! I only got to see the first half of last nights, but it looked like it was a good one.
SPOLER
I about lost it when General Hammond told them they found a camcorder in a tomb. Also I was thinking (this was before they couldn't get back to the ship) if they just went and stuck the Z.P.M. in the tomb that Daniels lady friend had researched and added to her collection, when they got back to the SGC wouldn't the Z.P.M. be in Daniel's study? And what is the Zero Point Modual I think I missed the episodes where they elarned about it, i havne't seen much of this season.

SPOILER
A Zero Piont Module is an insanely powerful power source. And they did find it in the alternate reality, they just didn't know what to do with it, because the recording ended just before Dr. Jackson was going to explain what it did. (The battery died.)

Ah, that sucks. I hope I see it when they re-air it. I just bought my dad Season 7 so that will have to keep me entertained. I didn't see much of that one either.

yeah, I've seen a good share of Atlantis. It's not bad I like SG-1 better though. McKay get's on my nerves, I liked it when he was trapped in the forcefield generator  ;D

umm, one thing I noticed in the new episode. If the alternate timeline was supposed to be based in the same time that the SGC was first founded, why is Jack's hair grey?

No, that was an alternate timeline in which the SGC was never founded. It was still the same time as when SG-1 left at the beginning of the episode.

Have you all heard the rumors (yet again) that Season 9 is going to be the last season? I know they've said it for all the others but supposedly R.D.A. has some other ideas for shows he wants to follow up on.  :'( I heard this from GateWorld if you were wondering where I'd heard it from.

I seriously doubt they'll stop the show, seeing as its Sci-Fi's biggest money maker, despite being second in ratings. (The new BSG is usually higher than SG-1 and Atlantis) They also need it to run parallel with Atlantis, because the continuity between the two shows is great. (What with the time machine information and puddlejumper on that one planet and...yeah.)

I think I remember Amanda Tapping (actress who plays Col. Carter) saying at the beginning of this season that they would keep going until their writers ran out of ideas. I hope that doesn't happen anytime soon.

The thing I'm scared of happening about Stargate SG1, is that is runs on too long and ends badly. I'ld rather remember it the way it is at the moment and the way it has been in the past. It would really be cruddy if they pushed out another series that was crap, it would ruin it all for me.
Hopefully when Atlantis finally find a Z.P.M and connect back to Earth there will be a lot more to add to the SG1 series, maybe even the Wrath attacking our Galaxy and of course some more of the Ancients (goes without saying).
I've missed the begining of this Post, so I'ld like to take the time to say SG1 rules. Hopefully the new game they are making on the Unreal 2.5 Engine will be just as good.

I've been meaning to pick up the SG-1 pen and paper game. The players handbook looked quite thick.

I'd try Overstock.com if you're looking to buy pen-and-paper RPGs for anything. They gouge the hell out of you price wise in B&N and Amazon.com. >_<

While looking for the pen and paper game on Overstock, I noticed that they had seasons 1-7 of SG-1 for *Checks price* $43.71 each. That is about $30-$40 cheaper (depending on how recent the season is) than Media Play, so if you're looking to buy them, go to www.overstock.com.

I really love Stargate SG-1, but I haven't had the time to see it recently. I even have all the boxed sets, but yet again I do not have the time to catch up on the episodes I missed (you know it's bad when the episodes you have on your Tivo are now on DVD).

I have been watching SG-1 for some time now (I too have all the box sets ;D )  And I have just picked up on Atlantis, which if you watch them in succession is not that bad (weekly they seem somewhat lackluster). All though it does seem like they wrote allot of the episodes on a tight budget.  :-\
If you spend word for word with me, I shall make your wit bankrupt.

$45.76-$48.06 for an entire season on www.deepdiscountdvd.com

I'd go with Overstock. It might not seem like you save that much, but if you're buying all of the seasons, it'll add up.

All hail Stargate SG1. about 6 month ago we were like 3 or 4 seasons behind then channel 7 who show SG1 started showing 2 episodes a week for a while then 3 (2 on thursday and 1 on sunday) then 4 then 5 (SG1 heaven) basically so they could catch up to start showing Atlantis which they got 1 ep a week now.

I watch SG1 and Atlantis religiously and cannot wait till July 21st for the new seasons to start.  It will be interesting with the 2 Farscape folks in there.  Claudia black did good that one episode she did, hilarity.  And again, Can't wait to see how they change it.

Also, has anyone here seen the Stargate infinity animated series? Rubbish, purely.

Have not.  They are making a Stargate game based on the series.  They have the daedelus(?)  Fighting the Wraith in Atlantis, or will be.  I know a bit about the next seasons, they shall be quite interesting.

Can someone explain this to me? I've seen a couple episodes of this series and thought it was terrible, then I notice all of my firends and forum members are crazy about it, lots of people have box sets of it.  Did I just watch some bad episodes?  Then again I never understood Buffy, though it was also terrible.  Maybe its just me.

Just watching a couple episodes of anything doesn't give you a picture, you have to watch them, and not just random ones.

Theres showing all SG-1 today on sci-fi and Atlantis tomorrow.
