Musicovery: Interactive webRadio
« on: November 21, 2006, 06:51:56 am »
Musicovery creates play lists based on a matrix of calm/energetic and dark/positive moods. Click anywhere on the matrix to start the play list. You can also filter by genre and year. Sound is lo-fi (you have to pay for hi-fi) but it plays whole songs and often throws up something you've never heard before that still fits your mood. Kinda fun to play with and see what comes up.

What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

No, Not exactly, but both sites seem to be interesting in their own right at this point.

Musicovogy is a less restrictive in terms of exploration (But perhaps that's because it's more about discoving all the music), but Pandora seems to be about experimenting with the "Genes of music".

Both are fun experimental music sites. So far I prefer Musicovery (Becuase of the fewer restrictions) , but Pandora seems interesting too.

Musicovery is cool. Pandora isn't very good though, I typed in "Beethoven," but that isn't an artist it recognizes. What the heck is with that? ???

Pandora is nice, but I prefer Musicovery. It's really good!

I remember them saying that they were trying to see how they would do classical music and get what they call "Similar music". And When they do you would probobly put "Boston Pops" or "Itzahk Pearlman"to get it due to the fact that Beethoven never recorded his works.
Cool Service.

If anyone's checked recently they've updated a little.

Most noteably: A pause/play button.
