Grr. If anyone else is playing this, When you get to a boss named Odin, just skip him. He's an optional boss. Come back when your lvl 40 or 45 or something. He's impossible underneath that practically.

(look I'm back)

Hay guys, I need someones friend code so I can send them 7 emails to get the Onion Knight.

Here's some info on it if you don't know what it is:
Quote
How to obtain secret job: Onion Swordsman

Back in the original Famicom FFIII, Onion Swordsman was the first job you start as (unlike Freelance from the DS version), but you can play this job in the Nintendo DS version as well by unlocking it. Onion Swordsman is one of the most powerful jobs with the Onion Equipment + past level 90's.

How to obtain:
1)Register someone elses's (or multiple) communication ID under Mog Net.
2)Send message to another PC 7 times
3)Send and receive 4 messages from Topapa, on the fourth one you will receive a message to do a mini-quest.
4)Go to Uoul (First town in the game)
5)Talk to Topapa
6)Go to the cave up north of the cave
7)At the drop hole, you will have an event and then will be proceeded to fight 3 bombs
8)After the battle, you will obtain a piece of crystal, which will unlock Onion Swordsman

I've been grinding my job lvl. If your main lvl is < 14 you can lvl up your job lvl after doing 5 things for each person.

What this means is you can go to the 1st cave, go into battle, and block 5 times. If your lvl is high enough but still less then 14 the bad guys will do 0-1 dmg to you.

So I plan on geting the Onion Swordsman and grind it for a while. I don't really mind grinding.

If you want to get the Onion Swordsman, PM me your friend code so we can send each other 7 emails. Thanks guys

So that's how jobs work...

I guess I'll go to some other place to job grind my level 40s, where can I find this info?

Here's my current build:

Silver Hair: Level 41 Dark Knight Job Level 28

Shy Kid: Level 41 White Mage Job Level 58

The Girl: Level 40 Monk Job Level 80

The Ex-Castle Gaurd: Level 41 Black Mage Job Level 61

My final build will be Dark Knight, Devout, Black Belt, and Summoner, in that order.

Odin was a lot easier than I thought. I just wish I had a thief with me to steal the Zantestucken.

Can't help ya with anything with WiFi, I can't connect to WiFi from here.

and I already got Onion Knight. He really does suck at the moment. =P

My Party is:
Silver Hair: 46 Warrior. Job 84
Blonde Hair: 47 Magus. Job 26
Red Hair: 46 Devout. Job 24
Brown Hair: 46 Onion Knight. Job 16

But I haven't really played much lately. I have to keep on grinding for lvls and job lvls. When I went into the dark world I just got owned. There's no save points in there! I only killed 1 of the 4 bosses then died on the second in there.

I might start playing again. I only really play Final Fantasy when I have nothing else to do.

Just started this. It's good thus far. Felt pretty hosed by the Fire Crystal dungeon's boss, so I'm having to grind some. Which I hate honestly. It's not like I rush my way through these sort of games; the fact that I'm having to consciously run around like a nutjob in circles to level is frustrating. Where's Yangus's Whistle technique when I need it?

Why are you playing an RPG if you hate level grinding so much?

Why are you playing an RPG if you hate level grinding so much?

Because ordinarily I do it without realizing I'm doing it. When I play these things, I take my time and explore every nook and cranny of the landscape, try to find every secret passageway, etc. I learned a long time ago that rushing through Final Fantasy games is foolish, since there's a lot of off-the-beaten-path stuff lurking around that you'll miss. For example: I was never cognizant that I was grinding playing DQ VIII or FF XII. My grinding was incidental to what I was otherwise doing. But in this, I'm very aware that I've explored everything I can reasonably explore and am simply spinning in place till another random battle pops up so that I can catch my characters up to where I am in the game despite my progressing through it at a slow clip.

Silver (Cthulhu) Lvl. 14 Red Mage  Job Lvl 19
Gay Dude (Eibon) Lvl 14 White Mage  Job Lvl 18
Girl (Alexil) Lvl 14 Warrior  Job Lvl 17
Blondie (Nygotha) Lvl 14 Thief  Job Lvl 12

Right now I am trying to figure out what to do at the Tower of Owen(?) and found a village near the Desert that was attacked.
This is a really good RPG, my First true Final Fantasy besides FF Tactics.

Keep that Thief if you are planning on getting a Dragoon later in the game.

*Spoilers*

When you get to Eureka you can steal the best staff in the game from Odin.

You can one shot Bahamut with it.

I didn't know it was that good!

What should I  do if I can't set up my DS Wi-Fi (see sig) but still  want the blacksmith and whatnot? Any workaround?
