Best Dozen GBA Games
« on: June 15, 2005, 03:27:47 pm »
In your 4/22 episode, you mentioned you felt the GBA had 12 great games.  Can you list them for me? I want to build a library and I respect your reviews.

Yeah, that'd be nice. I only got The Minish Cap, but I'm going to get the GBM, so I need more GBA games.....
I know I'll have to get:
Advance Wars (1+)2, Fire Emblem (1+)2, Golden Sun 1+2, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Zelda: ALTTP + 4 Swords, Phantasy Star Collection (I loved those games), Final Fantasy 1+2 (Dawn of Souls I think), Metroid: Fusion+Zero Mission, one Pokemon game and Harvest Moon: Friends of mineral town.....
Well that IS a dozen actually :D

My problem with that list is that 5 of them are just SNES games.  I like LTTP, hell I have it for my GBA, but I would not count it among the best because its not origonal to the GBA.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance might have edged up here if it didn't have the Card system

Opps, just saw this one. I would say that the best GBA are:

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (best GBA by far)
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
WarioWare Inc.: Mega MicroGame$
Metroid Fusion
Advance Wars
Fire Emblem
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis (long game)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (another long game)

Other popular games which are also good but you can find on other systems (and not "unique" to the GBA and can be found on other systems) are:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
Mario Kart Super Circuit
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Metroid: Zero Mission

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance?? I absoluetely hated that game, the original was my faveorite FF game ever. (7 was SOO overrated)

1: AdvanceWars 1/2
2: Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis
3: Fire Emblem
4: FF 1/2 (Though it was waay too easy compaired to nes, but fun none the less... I hope they make a 3j! Loved that game!)
Uh... Can't think of any others I liked. ;)

It's newness may be skewing my perception, but as of right now Wario Ware: Twisted is my favorite game for any system.  My poor DS is getting shaken like crazy(it's still a gba game Im just playing it on the DS), although there is this one boss game I hate so much that I might never unlock the last set of games....
