If you want historical accuracy, watch the history channel (Provided they arent doing another Hitler Marathon)

How about you switch over to Discovery and watch the same goddamn boat sinking over and over?

Well, technically it was only three hundred spartans, but they didn't stand alone. After the main greek host retreated, King Leonidas stayed behind with 300 Spartans, 400 Thebans, and 700-1000 Thespian volunteers. (damned actors.  ;))

Bible? Huh? Are you being facetious?

Edit:
Oh, and as for casualties, it varies depending on who you asked, though they all agree that all the greeks got killed, the last dying in a last stand on top of a nearby hill.
Enemy causualty estimates:
20,000 (Modern estimates)
20,000 (Herodotus)
80,000+ (Ctesias)

By the way, who said that the Persians had "ogres"? Was it Herodotus?
Yes. Of course.

Or National Geographic for Shark Decade.

What were we talking about?

Oh yeah... looks to be a good movie, I mean, it has everything. Spartans... arrows... boats. EVERYTHING.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

Ever since I heard about this story in history class years ago, I thought it would make an awesome movie. I didn't know they had already made some, but this one looks SWEET. I can't wait for it.

I'm one who usually guns for substance and historical accuracy over pretty effects and the like... but I'll be going to see this film.  Gerard Butler is an old favourite of mine for his tacky films.  Attila the Hun was great, for some reason I just love it.  Can't wait to see this... it doesn't try to be accurate or substantial, it just tries to be entertaining from what I can tell.  Nothing wrong with that.
