GamingSteve is a time machine!
« on: January 18, 2006, 08:13:09 am »
I clicked on my Gaming Steve bookmark just now and it came up with the november stories as the latest ones. It was the Jack Thompson gets thrown off Alabama GTA case story. I checked the address bar and it hadn't linked itself to an archive page, and I don't have the website saved for offline use at all. Not sure what happened.

After i refreshed the page it was fine, but for a moment I had gone back in time! ...seriously wierd glitch though.

Wow, this makes me realize how long it's been since I was an active user here.

There's some site on the internet, cant remember the exact URL (its archive something) where you can type in a website address, and it'll show what that website looked like for each month its been live. It's crazy to type in sites like Gamespot and to see what they looked like back in 1996...totally different.

EDIT: Found the URL, it's: http://www.archive.org

And look at Steve's site the day he started it, it looks different: http://web.archive.org/web/20050315014118/http://www.gamingsteve.com/

Turning the clocks back

Any one remember when there wasn't a Spore forum? When the spore forum was just called Spore?

Well now you can take a glimpse into the past with the Wayback machine.

Using this I was able to go back to when there were only 16 posts on the fourms.
Using this link http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php click on the date you want and BAM you back to when there weren't  364357+ members on the forums.

I posted this here because It has something to do with the site, and its newsish.

I posted a thread about this months ago.

And someone actually did that before me, so they were merged.

It's astounding...
...time is fleeting...

...I'll be honest. I haven't seen Rocky Horror Picture Show but you seemed like you really wanted someone to continue to the song and rather then leave you hanging I Googled the time warp's lyrics...(I have heard it before, It's a good song.)
I should see that movie though. I really probably should.

Reading topics of days gone by is fun. Anyone gotten that spore newsletter yet?

What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.
