Anti-Persperant PS3 controllers. Wow.

That is a link to an article that shows that Logitec is releasing a PS3 controller at the PS3 release that has built in cooling fans that can be switched on and off. The catch? They don't cool the controller (why would you need to do that anyway?) they cool your hands. Ummmmm.............what? What kind of person would spend extra money (at least ten dollars, probably around 15-20) for fans that cool your hands while playing? My hands dont sweat like crazy when I play, nor do they heat up to the point where I need a fan to cool them down. God forbid I pause the game and cool my hands.
The controller seems to be cheap, but come on, how cheap could it be if you want the motion sensors and the fans? Is this yet another gimic by sony or is a revolutionary idea that has never occured to people who can think?

I have seen these in the game stores for the last few years... they seem to sell well actually... I almost got one but then I realized how stupid it was.

Do they have those stupid 8-way D-pads? That's one of the things that really pisses me off about 3rd party controllers.

I have no idea how they would sell well for the reason you stated. How pointless it was. It must be a crap-tastic controller to be $42 and have that stuff (with tax). What will Sony think of next? The controller than doubles as a cooking knife? "I LOST?! AGAIN!?!? ARGGGHHH!!! *goes on a homocidal rampage*.........yea....."

There have been plenty of controllers from 3rd party manufacturers that included fans that were meant to cool your hands. I remeber once using one, and I hated it. The fan caused an annoying vibration and there was no switch to turn it off. I suppose it did fufill its purpose. It kept my hands cool but I don't think that was worth having to deal with the annoyance.

Hopefully Sony has manufactured their controllers in such a way as to not make such a problem.

EDIT: Just noticed these were also 3rd party controllers haha. Mmmm I tend to stay away from them :P

Yes, it's important to note that logitec - not sony - are making these controllers. Sony may or may not endorse/care about these controllers.
Dont look at me, I'm irrelevant!

Considering Sony likely doesn't get much out of anyone purchasing a 3rd party controller, I'd imagine they're not hugely enthusiastic.

Yeah I am sure Sony is going to have enough trouble getting these controllers to work.

I'd pay Wii Controller prices for one of those.

Am I the only one who thinks that is a good idea? Seriously, some people have horrible hand sweat.

First they need to make a controller that we can smash against hard surfaces and throw around and will not break.

Because I have had this problem.

First they need to make a controller that doesn't break my hand by forcing it into an uncomfortable position for long hours.

Because I have had this problem.

Fix'd, for me.

Anybody who needs, actually needs, an anti-persperant controller probably already takes medicine or something for their problem.

Or they should at least. Or they should just stop shaking my hand.
