The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime.

Has anyone read this? It's a very good book...

It is about a kid with special needs who doesn't understand human interactions, but is incredibly gifted at maths. His parents have split up and he never hears form his mother. His next door neighbours dog is murdered brutally one night, and he starts off on his own odd little adventure to find out whodunnit. A true story.

I read the parody of this: The Curious Incident of the WMDs in Iraq. That was amusing.

I've not read the original, it doesn't really appeal to me.

It's an awesome book. Ignore Daxx. He lacks taste. ;)

I don't like it.

I am Autistic, and the author writes as if he's autistic, but isn't.  And it shows.  It's just too inauthentic for me to read.
I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

He never claimed to be autistic. The lead character is. And from what I've heard from my brother there's different ways in which autism manifests itself. I'm not trying to discount your experiences, 'cause obviously I've no idea what it's like to have it, but is it possible that the main character could be experiencing it in a different way? Plus, I think he was more than just autistic. I believe he had several issues that he was contending with.
