Linux Distros
« on: September 21, 2006, 02:11:58 am »
I've been using Linux for a while, but mostly on other peoples' computers and on the network at Uni. I'm looking to build a computer for myself, however, and am trying to bring the cost down by using as much free software as possible. So, I thought, what better than to use a free operating system?
I must emphasise that I am a relative Linux newbie, so when you make your choice please don't just pick you favourite distro, pick one that would be suitable and explain why you picked it in a post.

I've heard good things about Ubuntu for newbies, but I don't know much about Linux, being a BSD user.
