Gotta admit...that developer walkthrough video impressed me.

Dunno why my expectations weren't sky high already....I can't think of any game by Irrational that I haven't enjoyed, except the Freedom Force series - and that's only cuz it just wasn't my type of game - I did recognize the quality of it, despite that.

I loved Freedom Force. It was a Comic Book Superhero game done right.

I even enjoyed SWAT 4. It showed some real polish.

I think we may have a real winner on our hands. I definetly think so! Oh.. and btw,  I love the Little Sisters. When she says "Look Mister Bubbles! Adam!" I just went hysterical. I loved her calling the Big Daddy "Mister Bubbles .

I hope this doesn't turn out like Deus Ex 2. I was quite excited about that one and it turned quite disapointingly in my oppinion.

Bioshock does look like it has a lot of potential though. However, I've been disapointed by too many games latley to get too excited. I'm looking at you Prey!
Speeking of Prey, Bioshock looks fairly similar to Prey. How similar do you guys/gals think the requirement will be? Those water efect in the new video are scaring the willies out of my PC.

All I know is that my laptop overheated when playing Oblivion.. and Bioshock looks like it would easily do the same.

Its why I am getting the 360 version later on. I dont feel like frying my video card over the game.

bioshock has alot riding on it. For me thats because it's the unofficial sequel to System Shock 2 which was one of the greatest psychological thriller games of its time. There will never be a system shock 3 because too many people own the licence for someone to go around and buy it all up. Alot of the original team is working on this game though so here's hoping!
Dont look at me, I'm irrelevant!

Just got this a few days ago:
Intel Core 2 Duo e6600
4GB OCZ Gold DDR2
ATI x1950xtx 512MB DDR4 (MSI)

My most expensive upgrade ever... by alot. (I had an AthlonXP)

It should handle Bioshock alright :D GRAW seems to be pretty easy for it... I played System Shock 2 a couple of years ago, and it was a great mixture of FPS and RPG, Bioshock should be awesome.

Same here, especially the dynamic AI and all the different situations you will have it the game.  I also liked how you can augment your weapons (nothing really new), but the idea of those plasmids is cool, basicly like a Genetic spell.

LOL thanks, I have yet to bring it to a lan party.. Next thing I'm saving for would be an r600 :D but only when there are enough DX10 games out to make it worthwhile.. My current card should easily last until then. I'm sure I could run Crysis at max DX9 settings for a while :D.. oh and of course Bioshock.. Damn there's so many awesome games out next year..

Ain't that the truth...I have also been trying not to get too worked up over this one but since I loved the System Shock series so much it is really hard not to...

Bump bump bump!

Here is a really interesting preview of the game, narrated by the developers. It seems to be a multi-part affair so the rest will be coming along in time.
