What did Steve say about Resistence: Fall of man?

I remember in one of the past episodes Steve said the idea of R: FOM taking place in an alternate WW II era was in some book, anyone remember that book?

Turledove did some books on it(i think thats his name), but i think there was anotherauthor that did something simular

Turtledove's World War quadrology was about a similar situation, Alien invasion during WWII, however Resistence: Fall of Man is an original story.
