but are they sentient/sapient?

Yes, they are sapient and are very organized.
In briefing I will show more details, but I will start for its environment (planet).

The Arackrabee

As well as the Nepnauts, the Arackrabees are creatures from the Jaspe System.
They inhabit the surface of the planet Ebarkhara, the second next to Jaspe star.

Jaspe System

The Jaspe System is composed for four planets that gravitate the Jasper star (a smaller star of that our Sun) and a comet.

Nominating the planets from next to Jaspe, we have:
- Ytohtlom: very hot, it allows the survival of simple and very primitive life forms.
- Ebarkhara: an enormous swamp with giant insects, as the Arackrabees.
- Onaclovk: it's the minor of the planets. Its surface is rocky, with diverse volcanos. He is uninhabited.
- Sneparon: the cold planet most distant of Jaspe; home of the Nepnauts, Mognauts and Scielinauts.

Ebarkhara

Ebarkhara is a strange planet.

It is a little smaller that the planet Earth, being covered by enormous swamps, that if they intercalate with mountains, which hides dark and deep caves.

The strange behavior is observed only in its surface, a time that while the planet carries through a complete translation around Jaspe, the planet carries through only half of the rotation around its proper axle. In this way, one day complete in Ebarkhara has the duration of two years!

A great multiple green eye, characteristic of many insects, is a mark for this planet.

Moons

The planet is gravitated by two moons: Nootain and Erephrak, whose appearance is very odd.

They are:
- Nootain: the large. During formation rounded off mountains had been originated, rich in calcium, and seas dense and black, due to intense volcanic activity of deep its.
- Erephrak: the small. This moon acts as a shield against the celestial bodies that can be shocked with the planet. In this way, it presents diverse craters, formed for the collision of asteroids and meteors. Its color, yellow, is caused by the great number of sulphur reserves in the surface.

The Surface

In virtue of Ebarkhara to take two years to complete a period of rotation, occurs the formation of two distinct environments in its surface: one during the day and another one during the night, both with the duration of one year.

During the night, an extremely cold winter due to absence of the Jaspe brightness. Occurs the freezing of the water of the surface, becoming the peaks of mountains total covered by ice. The environment, very cold, makes with that the vegetables wither as during a frost, making it difficult the food attainment.

During the day the climate is very dry. Diverse vegetables grow in its surface and hide part of mountains. The ice, that before hid the peak of mountains, now is melted and forms rivers that run for the quagmires. Jaspe turns the shining.

Caves

The effect caused for the rotation of the planet isn't observed in the caves.

In these places, located below of mountains, the temperature is pleasant, but the Jaspe light is incapable to penetrate.

In all the caves, are possible to observe the formation of stalactites and stalagmites.

These rocky formations divide the ways for where the water, that it drains of mountains and it enters in the caves, passes. This water is rich in sediments and algae, making with that it is a little acid and with an odd aspect.

In these caves there are few creatures capable to survive, in virtue of the absence of light and the food scarcity. The little food is supplied by the algae of the underground rivers, the base of the alimentary chain of the caves.

The creatures of this environment are very strange and compete ones with the others for the food. A time that to walk for this environment is relatively difficult, takes advantage the creatures capable to remain submerged and to fly among the rock columns.

PS: The creatures in the right corner aren't scaled.

Soon I will be describing the profiles of each one of the classes of the Arackrabee Kingdom and which its functions.

looks interesting.... :)

The planet also has creatures without intelligence, but they are all in the caves.

I will try to show to all the creatures of the planet in intercalated way:
- Alternating between the classes of Arackabees and the creatures of the caves (sentients, but with short intelligence).

Ebarkhara

The Caves (Part 1)

In the dark and humid caves of Ebarkhara live innumerable creatures, many of them similar the insects and other animals of the Earth. In the other hand, many of them are very strange and present very curious evolutive ways.

As mentioned previously, the food is very scarce in these caves and thus the animals depend on algae presents in underground rivers, in the lowest levels of the alimentary chain, and other animals, hunting ones to the others.

In these caves is observed the presence of five main groups of individuals, that will be described later:
- Ylfs: small animals similar the flies
- Gobers: these strange animals resemble slugs with wings
- Swareds: poisonous animals with many legs
- Gwors: the worms, size and form are very varied
- Togots: these strange creatures resemble the starfish

Each one of the groups was defined in accordance with common ancestor, that still present in the environment of the caves, and in accordance with its basic form and its main strategy of food capture.

In this strange environment, the animals had developed interesting strategies of food capture, amongst which they are the bioluminescence, the camouflage and the use of traps for food capture.
