Tick and Flea levels
« on: June 05, 2005, 10:42:55 pm »
This is going to sound "holy crap" "off the wall" and "amazingly crazy," but, has anyone ever considered the possibility of the gameplay taking place from single-cells to multicellular riding on the backside of another creature?

Consider having your villages at the tick and flea levels --

I like this idea already.

Who is to say that the single-cell stage isn't taking place on or inside another creature. For all you know you could be curing some unfortunate creature who is suffering from an incurable disease. Then one day he stops off on a planet for a wee whilest on a long insterstellar journey and accidently wee's you on to that planet left to evolve.
Anyway I think a tick/flea stage wouldn't really be a stage, although it would be cool if you could evolve that small. You a brave lonely tick conquering the galaxy and enslaving behemoth sized creature so you can build a home for the future generations. I doubt this would happen but it'ld be fun.

That would be awesome but i doubt you can do this in the game but who knows what Will is up to. Hey maybe this could be in a expansion or something.

Mmm, and then we could evolve our bacteria to make more sophisticated viruses and the like, and feed off other creatures.  On the other hand... i wouldn't actually play it :P.

Well I'm sure you could go back once you've reached the space travel period -- so I'm quite sure that there's a possibility you could "drop" a new strand of backteria onto a creature and start from there.

But that's just my assumption we'll be able to choose where we start over.

You could probably DO it, but what would be the use?

That's how I think Spore will handle things like this; it will let you do it, but your creature might not evolve well. I think the game is modeled around a larger creature than a tick, but then again I could be wrong, what with all the stuff Steve says we still don't know.
