Yeah, I've been playing with graphics for years.
It definitely makes what you're looking at much easier to read but you're still gonna have to learn how to play.

I remember when I first played I started and quit like ten times before I stuck it out. I'll never forget the satisfaction of digging out those first little rooms.
then i accidentally flooded everything

I mostly use texture packs to make the tiles square, because in vanilla they are longer than they are wide and it triggers my autism.
I usually use CLA, because its minimalistic and it looks good, but if you want more graphics, mayday and obsidian are pretty good.
Just keep in mind that sometimes certain text characters can be replaced by some textures. So you might be reading up on a dwarfs mood and see all the o's replaced by wells, but it usually doesn't stop you from being able to read stuff.

Or you'll be in adventure mode and it's telling you in order to do a thing you have to hit the '., key or some nonsense.

****ing plebs. The only good way to play is with a blindfold.

EDIT: Also the isometric graphics thing apparently has a real-time overlay thing now so you can have graphics inside the game.

I guess after the next bugfix release I'll give this thing another round.
Seems kinda appealing to me right now.
