Life is not measured by the amount of times you fall down but by the number of times you get back up again.

Well I certainly had a full house tonight. Simon was already cleaning up the mess everyone had made. I told him he had to sleep in the barn and he just nodded. The piano player had finally arrived and music was now filling the saloon. I let the other bartender take over and I wandered the room making sure everyone was happy. I glanced up the stairs and wondered what my latest guest was up to. He was a strange one, testing out the window? I think that one was going to be trouble.

Just as the drunken mob were about to rise up and grab me, a honky-tonk melody struck up and the whole place reverted to a state of cheerful brutality.
"Phew"
I wiped my brow and walked over to sgore.
"Lucky for you boi, the piano man came back. What is it youre wanting?"

"Sorry about that." I said. "but the reason I came over here was because I think something odd is going on here, and I'm not sure how much longer we should stay. There were two people at the barber shop earlier that were hiding something, and I distinctly heard them say 'sitting on something big here'."

"I think youre just suffering from an advanced case of paranoia son. We'll spend the night in the saloon down the road and then leave for the next town come mornin'. For now, I reckon I'm going to play some pokah. Care to join me?"

I jumped up. My poker sense was tingling. I readjusted my shirt and put all of my things back on. You never know where a game of poker could lead. I opened my door and hopped down the stairs.

"Did somebody say poker!?" I yelled, with a smile.

I saw two men in the corner, one of them looked over in my direction and nodded so I walked over.

"Ah, good morning, sir! The name's Kevin, Kevin Ott." I said, sitting down.

"Philadelphia you say!? I was born and raised in Philadelphia! Its a wonderful town isn't it? Tell me, do you know anything of the Ott Printworks? I have not been back there in ages and I would love to hear how my family is doing!" I said, happily.

Who would have thought I would find someone else from Philadelphia out here!

I suddenly felt I might have landed young Gore in some trouble. Ah well, he was a talented boy, he should be able to bluff his way through this one.

"Ott Printworks?" I said, acting like I had ever actually heard of Ott Printworks "Really now? So you're the Keven Ott they're always going on about. Oh the stories they've told me about you." I added with a chuckle.

I raised my eyebrow. Since when did those ingrates I called my family talk about me...

"Stories you say!? What does the family have to say about me? Tell me, is that older brother of mine still the smartest guy in the city or have they found  a replacement?"

I waited for an answer... if he was who he said he was, then this would be good... if he was not... well, I would just have to find out more about him.

"Weyll, enough chit chat. What say we play some pokah. I'll take the liberty of dealing first. 5 card stud, suicide kings wild"

I said, feeling bad for dropping yound Gore into it like that.

I began dealing the cards.

A new poker game started at one of the tables. The mysterious man who rented the room had flown down the stairs to join the game like he had a 6th sense that one was starting.

"Hello Gentlemen, can I get a round of drinks for you here? I believe you were drinkin' Mint Juliep's earlier sir"

As I took their drinks orders I noticed the marked deck of cards. I chuckled to myself. Someone was going to get snookered tonight. Would probably end up in a fight later too. I'd seen enough card decks to know which ones were not quite real. I went back to the bar to get the drinks.

I looked at my hand. 2 pairs, Jacks and twos... this called for a double bluff.

I reckon I'll wager... a dollar.
