Board games?
« on: June 05, 2005, 07:32:25 am »
What are everybody's favorite board games?

This seemed like the most logical forum to put this in.

I happen to like Stratego and Scrabble. And chess.

Since there is already a chess topic, what is the favorite bingo you've played? (assuming you've had onr)

Mine is "antiique."

I can't remember how many point a scored.

Edit: Should probably create a "Scrabble" topic. to keep this topic...er...on topic.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is absolute crap

Apples to Apples (more of a party game but I'll include it) is a game I've just discovered that I absolutely love.  Very simple yet really fun with people you know really well.  As for Board Board games I'd have to go with something like Settlers of Cataan or something like that.  My brothers and I own tons of the damn things and it gets hard to pick.  We own the Dune board game for crying out loud! -leeman

ps: The trick is to play as the Fremen.

I like Stratego because you can do all sorts of crazy things, and I also like Monopoly. I'm good at chess but I got bored after playing it at lunch every day all of this past year.

Settlers of Catan...didn't even know that it was published outside Germany (it's a German game "Die Siedler von Catan" by Klaus Teuber)
Do you also have the Spacetravellers of Catan (Sternfahrer von Catan) or something like this over there ? That is a really good game too :D

I used to play some Table-Tops (Mechwarrior: The Dark Age, Warhammer 40k) and ccgs (Magic, Behind) but it got too expenisve...

I still play P&P RPGs (The Dark Eye, ST: TNG and Cthulhu) from time to time but I don't know if you could consider them board games ;D
Anyway, do you play any RPGs ? And what RPGs ?

I don't even want to tell you how much I love board games. In fact, I might like board games more than video games. Well, not quite, but it is very very close.

I have a ton of board games and I usually try to play a few times a week. But recently my regular gaming group lost their gaming location so we need to find a new place to play.

Most of you probably know this web site already but definitely check it out.
