Screw fast and intense.  In Grade 8 we spent half the year playing big 8 player games that would go on for weeks.  I tell you, the amount of backroom politics and subterfuge that went on was crazy.

I once played Global Thermonuclear War.

A strange game. The only way to win is not to play.

How about a nice game of chess?

Ah, scrabble is a good one.  If you clear all your letters you get 50 points if I remember right.

This happened earlier today, while I was playing Heroscape with one of my relatives. She was beating me. My men were getting mowed down one by one.

"I just totally killed your guy!"
"Okay, your Airborne Elite soldier shoots down Ne-Gok-Sa. He melts and evaporates."
"No, my guy didn't shoot him. My guy - no, Private Josh Alexander, nephew of Sgt. Drake Alexander punched him."
"Punched him?"
"Yes, he punched him!"
"You can't do that!"
"Yes I can!"
"No, he's a Marro! He's like, over 90% water! You know, they can Water Clone?"
"Okay, my guy drinks him."
"What?!"
"You heard me!"
"What, so like, he uses his gun? Breaks off the barrel or something?"
"No, he uses a straw!"

"You can't do that!"
"I just did! The Private slurps him up!"
"Whaaaa?"
"I drank his brains!"
"His brains are in his crotch!"
"Then what did I drink?"
"His reproductive system!"
"He's dead now!"
"I can't believe you just drank an alien's reproductive organs!"

"That's a he?"
"Well, technically, the Marro are hermaphrodites."
"Then I slurp 'em both down!"

By now, we're both laughing so hard, we can hardly speak. It was very funny at the time.
"I can't believe this!"
"Mmm, tastes like strawberries!"
"No they can't! They have acidic blood!"
"Well, it tastes like strawberries to Private Josh!"

Have you ever had any moments like these at the gaming table?

If the blood is acidic shouldn't drinking it kill you? Or is the acidic level something like sitric acid in which case maybe it might taste more like an orange or a lemon.

I was just making the stuff up as I went along. Except for the water clone and melting part.

Heroscape was... interesting.  Ah well, I find any game sweet if I can kill a dragon with a giant robot named Deathwalker 9000.

Loled so hard at the straw thing.

A strange game. The only way to win is not to play.
The right way to say it would be "The only winning move is not to play."

Oh, and I play Risk and Monopoly.

That, has nothing to do with board games.  It's also quite old.

Oh, and rysworld, Monopoly is awesome.

I was just making a point, he might as well been playing THE GAME.  It's the same rules, apparently.
