yeah I've seen the first half of Alien Planet... I never had a chance to see it again, but I've always hoped I would  :(

Anyway, the creatures are indeed pretty amazing. Not just how they look, but they have a complicated, intelligent background as well.

I LOVE Alien Planet ;D The Daggerwrist actually inspired two of my cartoon characters.

I've seen the movie all the way through, and read the book (Except for the 32 pages ripped out of the library's only copy :'()

Chances are that once I'm skilled enough in Spore's creature editor, I'll be making whole planets of these guys. I especially want to see how the game would handle a Gyrosprinter. Flipsticks (probably not possible) and Rimerunners would be fun too.

I was looking at this on the Discovery Planet site and you can see an obvious relation between some of the creatures. There is the type with two legs (Bladderhorn and Pronghead) or the ones with the split tail design (Sea Strider and Arrowtongue).
Is anyone planning to make similar looking creatures on the same planet in order to show some kind of common descent with modification? (It might be difficult with the random assortment downloaded off the web and all.)
If there was a better way to go then it would find me
I can't help it, the road just rolls out behind me

I have the book.

The creatures look like nothing from Earth. Since they lack eyes, they use sonar.

The second "tail" is actually a reproductive organ.
