Crazy creatures from Silverfish
« on: August 11, 2006, 02:44:30 pm »
Hmm....Yeah, I kinda rushed the name(Rokk-Dud). But who cares! This is just a random creature I thought up. Hopefully, there isn't anything that already looks like this. My apologies if there is. (I 'kinda' rushed the picture too. But I like the way it turned out.)

Yup. That loudly-colored-blue-thing is it's tounge. Obviously, I don't plan on this thing being sentient, but anything can happen! The Rokk-Dud is a slightly dim-witted creature. Luckily, it really doesn't need to be smart, what with the armor it naturally grows on its back. Looks like it should live in sandy/rocky places, to me. Oh, and it has six legs -- just to mix things up(Whoopty-doo!).      That's all I have for now. ;)

Sooooo....(the most important part)..How's it look?

EDIT!:  Look below for the nice, new, shiney pictures.  ;)

Wow, thanks for the positive input. Yeah, I'm gonna do a sentient creature soon. That was actually the idea when I started drawing, and ended up with this.

Looks like something you might find in a Super Mario game.
There is a method to my madness. That method is in and of itself quite mad, but it is method nonetheless.

Thank's all above posters, for the comments. Well, since I've already drawn one, I've decided I'm just gonna run with this for awhile.

Funny you should bring that up...
(I changed it's name to something a bit more 'catchy' for this stage. It's a Calcaput now!)

Okay, in this picture, it shows the calcaput actually standing. Plus, notice it has front 'paws' now, instead of the stubby leg-things from before. Also; It has primitive thumbs now -- And a tail cllub!(Wowee!) Learning to stand is when these guys actually start to make something of themselves, though they can't stay bipedal for long, in this stage. They'd just be too heavy.

Random fact: They're built to be able to eat rocks every once in awhile to keep there armor from dissapearing over time.(Gosh-golly!)

Since I'm a bit tired, I really can't think of nothin' else right now. Don't worry 'bout the size, weight, ect. I'll put that up later. So, feel free to post your thoughts!

Edit: Whew! Well, with me being so picky n' all, I touched up the old pic and made it look a little better.

Told you I'd have more. 8)

This is (you guessed it) the tribal stage! Yup. The calcaput's finally sentient. Still primitive, though.(Don't worry. I'm thinking up some futuristic ones.) Anyways, in this pic, the calcaput's second pair of arms are now paw-like while it's top pair are officially hands now -- And don't forget the new feet! The usefullness af a extremely heavy 'shell' isn't really needed, so they start to lose some of it(not that it ever goes away completely). Also, note the stereotypical tribal spear-thingy. At this point, calcaputs are able to walk around on their hind legs, without fear of getting tired(thanks to the 'lighter shell' thing mentioned before). Their still slow, though. And pretty shabby hunters. So they don't seem to have much going for them right now.(that's all for now)

I still haven't decided on any history/culture to these guys yet. But it'll come to me someday.

So.....whatdya think about this one? Any questions, comments?
