Amazing Screw-on Head
« on: July 28, 2006, 07:13:35 am »
I just saw the pilot on sci-fi last night, this show's great! its based on a comic by mike magnola (creator of Hellboy) about a robot that works for abe lincoln. it's really bizarre (in a good way) ;D

go watch it!

I watched this a week ago or so, and I wasn't too impressed. It's funny here and there, but it's not as funny as everyone is saying it is. Maybe the hype got to me.

yeah, that was the one thing that bothered me, everyone calling it a comedy...
i thought it was fine enough even without the humor :)

Wow. How weird can you get?
I like it!

Its really not comedy more than it is just absurdity and most of the humour came from the weirdness of the situations, although Emporer Zombie had some pretty good lines.
Is it only the pilot thats going to be online or will there be other episodes? I dont get the sci-fi channel you see.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

the comic they based it on was only one issue, so I don't know if sci-fi will even decide to make more episodes...
if they do, though, I don't know if they'd put them online :-\

Damn, I'll just have to get it on DVD or something.

The rather poor quality of the animation was a little distracting but I guess
a) it makes it more comic-book like
and b) It might just be a thing for the pilot, like the way the Pilot of House was all film noir-ish with crazy colours and camera angles.

Actually, it's a near spot-on reproduction of Mignola's artwork. The animation is one of the major things I think it has going for it, from someone that's a fan of his work and the original comic. And I think they've said that it's being developed as a series by Fuller, the guy who created Dead Like Me, and this was merely released online to test the waters, to see if they should invest in further episodes. Here's hoping they do, I enjoyed it.

It keeps saying that it can't find the clip. It is rather annoying since it has been saying it for two days now.
