well it was bound to happen sooner or later and its good that they are getting it out before spore (i mean who would buy something for create a pet when u could have a practically limitless creature editor) I'm sure it will sell well.
Those who think anything is possible have never tried slamming a revolving door.

Everything has a weakness against grenades ;)

Current Favorite Game- Spore

Waiting on:
Fallout 3
Starcraft 2

Obviously. All the forum members at the official site have gone ga-ga for pets ever since before the Sims 2 was released.

A lot of people, that's who.

Do you honestly think 90% of the people who play the Sims are going to be interested in Spore? When people see Spore, they're not going to be thinking OMGLOOKATALLTHECUTEPUPPIESANDKITTYCATS!!!111! ~^_^~ ^^^^^^^ <3333333333333 the way they will when they see this Pets expansion.

It's a sightly constant lack of ideas, u all know... night life (ts2) is just like hot date (ts1), if you can remember. And, pets (ts2) is the same as unleashed(ts1)!!  :-\ I had all the expansions since now, however i'll do without this one.

They said they give the people what they want (which actually means they repeat the EPs) on the autumn EP and they try something new on the Spring EP.

I share your skepticism for this x-pack. Unleashed was the breaking point for me and the original series. (Although, now I kinda wish I had tried Making Magic.) Still, so far with TS2 every expansian pack so far has included new features other then the main one. Up to this point they've added something that makes the packs worthwhile. For example, I'm not a huge fan of the "university experience" but I love the new career reward objects (even if I have to use a cheat code to unlock them) and the ability to force NPC teens to "grow up" so I don't have to have a teen sim build a new relationship when they become adults. Cars, vampires and building tools for NL (the dating mini-game is fun every once in awhile too.) I totally dig OFB's main feature, but it'd still be worth it for crafting tables, elevators and Servo.

And these features are always the ones that you don't really find out about until after the game is released. So as per my usual plan, I'll wait a couple of weeks after release, read the reviews and Sims fansites to find out all the hidden goodies and then decide wether or not it's worth the money.

Quote from article:
Quote
"We've always been known to jump at opportunities that challenge us to do something totally fresh that we've never done. Needless to say, recording 'Free Radicals' in Simlish allowed us to do just that," said Flaming Lips front man Wayne Coyne.

Full article from Gamespot here.

It's interesting because it's funny to listen to real-world songs sung in Simlish. :D

The article says they have done this for some time but they've only made 3 songs in the last EP. This is going to be their second time doing it.

Wouldn't be awsome if you could import your spore creatures into The Sims, and use them as pets?

Are you kidding? Especially the PC version. Humans have 4 skin tones.. pets get at least a dozen basic ones.. all of which can be blended. Humans get.. 5? basic eye colours. Dogs not only get at least twice that, they can also individually make each eye a different colour. (this can actually happen in humans, my friend Wade has it).  I guess humans probably have more facial features. But as for the rest of the body, The Sims are all just carbon copies. Where as pets have countless (almost to the point of needless) numbers of different ways to change their body.
